{"id":350526,"date":"2025-11-02T14:50:18","date_gmt":"2025-11-02T14:50:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/350526\/"},"modified":"2025-11-02T14:50:18","modified_gmt":"2025-11-02T14:50:18","slug":"vanderbilt-announcement-met-with-excitement-in-clarksville-tristar-ast-say-plans-wont-change","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/350526\/","title":{"rendered":"Vanderbilt announcement met with excitement in Clarksville; Tristar, AST say plans won\u2019t change"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Clarksville will go from having one hospital with a damaged reputation to having three hospitals with stellar reputations.<\/p>\n<p>CLARKSVILLE, TN (<a href=\"https:\/\/clarksvillenow.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">CLARKSVILLE NOW<\/a>) \u2013\u00a0With the news that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/clarksvillenow.com\/local\/tennova-healthcare-clarksville-to-be-sold-to-vanderbilt-for-600-million\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Vanderbilt University Medical Center plans to acquire the Tennova hospital<\/a>,\u00a0Clarksville will, in just a couple of years, go from having one for-profit hospital with a <a href=\"https:\/\/clarksvillenow.com\/local\/ascension-saint-thomas-tristar-ask-state-con-to-build-hospitals-in-clarksville\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">damaged reputation<\/a> to having three hospitals with stellar reputations \u2013 one for-profit (TriStar) and two non-profit (Ascension and Vanderbilt).<\/p>\n<p>The news was met with excitement from Clarksville and Montgomery County leadership.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Vanderbilt University Medical Center name, and supreme reputation, are certainly well-known already\u00a0to Clarksville and our entire region, and we warmly welcome this nationally heralded healthcare institution to our city,\u201d said Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts.<\/p>\n<p>Expectations for Vanderbilt in Clarksville will be high<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/clarksvillenow.com\/local\/how-we-got-to-tennova-clarksvilles-hospital-ownership-history-analysis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">VUMC, a 20% owner of Tennova-Clarksville<\/a>, plans to acquire full ownership of the 270-bed hospital by early 2026, making it the fourth community hospital in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanderbilthealth.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">Vanderbilt Health\u2019s network<\/a> of regional medical centers, all closely tied to VUMC in Nashville.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe expectations for them to deliver in our community \u2013 as Vanderbilt has long been known to do in Nashville \u2013 will undoubtedly be high. In our own conversations with some of Vanderbilt\u2019s executives, we have been repeatedly assured that they plan to bring to Clarksville the same level of excellence that they provide in Nashville,\u201d Pitts said. \u201cThe convenience and peace-of-mind of having that in our rapidly growing city is sure to be a source of great excitement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Montgomery County Mayor Wes Golden echoed those sentiments. \u201cWe welcome the expansion of Vanderbilt Health in Montgomery County and are excited that our residents will have even more options for their healthcare, and we are grateful to CHS and Tennova Hospital for the many years they\u2019ve invested in serving our community,\u201d Golden said.<\/p>\n<p>Clarksville-Montgomery County Economic Development Council CEO Buck Dellinger was also thrilled by the news. The EDC\u2019s long-planned <a href=\"https:\/\/clarksvillenow.com\/local\/office-park-plans-now-feature-potential-va-clinic-site-along-with-conference-center-in-clarksville\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">convention center and VA Clinic site<\/a> is sandwiched between the <a href=\"https:\/\/clarksvillenow.com\/local\/200-acre-rezoning-approved-clearing-way-for-freedom-farms-major-retailer-in-clarksville\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">upcoming Freedom Farms development<\/a> and the Tennova hospital campus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVanderbilt\u2019s large investment in our community speaks to the confidence they have in this market while also providing a strong network of care for our residents,\u201d Dellinger said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>New hospitals to move forward with plans<\/p>\n<p>Officials for both TriStar Health and Ascension Saint Thomas provided responses to Clarksville Now saying their plans to build in Clarksville will not change in the wake of Vanderbilt\u2019s announcement.
