HOUSTON \u2014 A 3-year-old boy was hit and killed by a pickup truck late Saturday night in southwest Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.<\/p>\n
HPD investigators said the crash happened around 10:40 p.m. at an apartment complex in on Ocee Street, just south of Richmond Avenue.<\/p>\n
Police said the child was walking with his mother across the apartment complex parking lot when something caught his attention and he tried to cross the street.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s when a red Toyota pickup truck hit the child and did not stop to render aid, investigators said.<\/p>\n
The truck was later found unoccupied, according to HPD.<\/p>\n
Houston Police Department\u2019s Vehicular Crimes Division is handling the investigation.<\/p>\n
