{"id":351138,"date":"2025-11-02T21:12:14","date_gmt":"2025-11-02T21:12:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/351138\/"},"modified":"2025-11-02T21:12:14","modified_gmt":"2025-11-02T21:12:14","slug":"nhls-predators-mocked-on-snl-heres-how-team-responded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/351138\/","title":{"rendered":"NHL&#8217;s Predators mocked on &#8216;SNL&#8217; \u2014 here&#8217;s how team responded"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Perhaps they saw this one coming.<\/p>\n<p>The Nashville Predators <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/onsi\/breakaway\/nashville-predators-react-viral-saturday-night-live-skit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">had a good sense of humor<\/a> after being mocked on \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d for the unfortunate naming of their recent community outreach campaign, \u201cPreds in the Community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A skit from the Nov. 1 episode of the popular sketch comedy show, hosted by Miles Teller, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/nbcsnl\/status\/1984837039037046804\">went viral <\/a>after it depicted NHL players promoting the league\u2019s annual community outreach day in July.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.89342404;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"37554747\" width=\"835\" height=\"441\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Screenshot-2025-11-02-114445.png\" alt=\"SNL Nashville Predators\" class=\"wp-image-37554747\"  \/>\u2018Saturday Night Live\u2019 poked fun at the Nashville Predators during a sketch on Nov. 1.  SNL<\/p>\n<p>The sketch included players from the Rangers and Los Angeles Kings \u2014 but centered on the Predators, playing off their eyebrow-raising slogan.<\/p>\n<p>The Predators responded to the viral clip on social media with a tongue-in-cheek reference to the season two finale of HBO\u2019s \u201cEuphoria.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWait, is this f\u2014 play about us?\u201d they <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PredsNHL\/status\/1984853632379208148\">posted on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Nashville player, embodied by Teller, attempted to highlight the team\u2019s charitable work but was continuously hung up on the poorly phrased script.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cTop Gun: Maverick\u201d star read through increasingly suggestive lines, going from \u201cI\u2019m a Predator in my community\u201d to \u201cI work in hospitals to make sick kids feel touched.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The sketch reached its climax when Teller\u2019s character listed his name, position, and team: \u201cChase Kid, right wing Predator.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:0.83754993;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"37554748\" width=\"494\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Screenshot-2025-11-02-114320.png\" alt=\"Nashville Predators preds in the community\" class=\"wp-image-37554748\"  \/>The Nashville Predators went viral for their \u201cPreds in the Community\u201d slogan for NHL\u2019s annual community outreach day in July. X \/ @PredsNHL<\/p>\n<p>Nashville took the jokes in stride, even utilizing the publicity \u2014 over 1.1 million views on X \u2014 to encourage viewers to support the Nashville Predators Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile you\u2019re here,\u201d they <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PredsNHL\/status\/1984856612624847213\">wrote under their initial post<\/a>, \u201clearn more and donate to support the [Nashville Predators Foundation\u2019s] work in Nashville and middle Tennessee!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Since its inception in 1998, the 501(c)(3) charity organization has aimed to \u201cuse our distinctive set of assets to support the youth and their families in the community that we call home.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhl.com\/predators\/community\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nashville Predators Foundation<\/a> has awarded over $11.2 million in grants to the local community to support educational, social, health, and cultural needs.<\/p>\n<p>Still, the slogan could use some work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Perhaps they saw this one coming.
