It will also drop NBC\u2019s iconic peacock logo and adopt a red, white, and blue color scheme. However, despite this new moniker and look, MSNBC has maintained that its editorial direction, mission, and staff will remain the same. The program schedule and channel number will also stay unchanged.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"2OUYUH3PHBEQVGF3YYYNDQ6D6A\">In an Oct. 27 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msnbc.com\/msnbc\/need-know-ms-now-rcna239322\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.msnbc.com\/msnbc\/need-know-ms-now-rcna239322\">announcement<\/a>, MSNBC wrote: \u201cThe same familiar and trusted hosts and journalists who make sense of what is happening in Washington, across the country, and around the world will still be here \u2014 on the same channel, at the same time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"RNSPKWSF3RAN5OZLVVJXT367QQ\">It continued: \u201cOur mission remains unchanged. MSNBC President Rebecca Kutler explained in a memo at the time that this transition prompted the need for a facelift for the brand.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"A37AQHBC3FEBREUUBQYWLJ4STY\">\u201cDuring this time of transition, NBCUniversal decided that our brand requires a new, separate identity,\u201d Kutler wrote. \u201cThis decision now allows us to set our own course and assert our independence as we continue to build our own modern newsgathering operation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"KWERUMYD55FF7N7YI5PG3ELOJE\">MSNBC, launched in 1996, has offered a mix of breaking news, analysis, and opinion-based programming for nearly 30 years.
