{"id":351612,"date":"2025-11-03T02:12:21","date_gmt":"2025-11-03T02:12:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/351612\/"},"modified":"2025-11-03T02:12:21","modified_gmt":"2025-11-03T02:12:21","slug":"wicked-broadway-actor-runs-nyc-marathon-hops-on-stage-for-two-performances-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/351612\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Wicked&#8217; Broadway actor runs NYC marathon, hops on stage for two performances"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Broadway star Jordan Litz ran the NYC Marathon in 3:40:53, then performed in Broadway&#8217;s &#8220;Wicked&#8221; twice in the same day.<\/p>\n<p>NEW YORK \u2014 Broadway performer Jordan Litz <a href=\"https:\/\/liveresults.nyrr.org\/e\/NYRR-NY2025?_gl=1*13tcn4o*_gcl_au*MjM5MTI0MTAzLjE3NjIxMjExMTE.#\/dash\/RCM92W7G\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">completed the New York City Marathon\u00a0<\/a>and immediately took to the stage for a matinee showing of &#8220;Wicked&#8221; on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Litz, who has played Prince Fiyero on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wnep.com\/entertainment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Broadway\u00a0<\/a>since May 2023, was one of thousands of participants running in the through all five New York boroughs this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He completed the marathon in 3:40:53 with an average time of 8:26 minutes per mile before having to suit up and perform for the 2 p.m. matinee show. The race started just after 9 a.m. ET.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Litz told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/11\/01\/nyregion\/broadway-nyc-marathon-jordan-litz.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">New York Times<\/a> he had been practicing for this run months in advance, sometimes running 18 or 19 miles before a double performance to play Prince Fiyero on stage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My body\u2019s ready for it,&#8221; he told them Saturday. &#8220;At the end of the day, as long as I\u2019ve refueled, I feel fine.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He was hoping to finish the marathon with seven minutes per mile so he could have an hour to celebrate, refuel and prepare for his performance, which he says usually leaves him &#8220;wobbling through life&#8221; after a marathon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I\u2019m crazy,&#8221; Litz told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/sports\/track-field\/hottest-celebrity-accessory-fall-marathon-medal-rcna240841\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">NBC News<\/a>. &#8220;I\u2019ve always been that kind of person, even when you asked my college teammates when I was a swimmer, I just loved to grind, and I loved to beat up my body and push it to the limits. So a marathon seemed like the logical next step for that kind of thing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He told the Times his main focus is refueling as much as possible and stretching since the stage they perform &#8220;Wicked&#8221; on is not flat.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It\u2019s at a two-degree incline, which destroys your body. The dance moves, in combination with being on a rake stage, is a recipe for all kinds of injuries,&#8221; he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Litz ultimately completed his marathon and took to the stage shortly after. He will also perform during the evening schedule, which starts at 7 p.m. ET.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Runners also included other big Broadway names like Anthony Ramos, who played Philip Hamilton and John Laurens in the Broadway musical &#8220;Hamilton&#8221; and Patina Miller, who played Deloris Van Cartier in the stage adaptation of the &#8220;Sister Act&#8221; and starred in the stage performance of &#8220;Pippin&#8221; as Pippin, and television hosts, actors and participants.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>                <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"photo__placeholder\" loading=\"eager\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/b48e2195-a573-4936-873d-d2a2edddece6_16x9.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n                <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"photo__main\" loading=\"eager\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/b48e2195-a573-4936-873d-d2a2edddece6_1140x641.jpg\"  alt=\"\" style=\"opacity:0\" onload=\"this.style.opacity=1\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Miller ended her race with a time of 3:52:44, while Ramos finished it with a time of 4:44:31.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Longtime &#8220;The Amazing Race&#8221; host Phil Keoghan also finished the marathon with a time of 4:16:14.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 26.2-mile course took runners through all five boroughs of New York, starting in Staten Island and ending in Manhattan&#8217;s Central Park. This is the 49th year the race has been in all five boroughs.
