{"id":351683,"date":"2025-11-03T03:07:26","date_gmt":"2025-11-03T03:07:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/351683\/"},"modified":"2025-11-03T03:07:26","modified_gmt":"2025-11-03T03:07:26","slug":"asia-pacific-markets-trade-mixed-as-china-pmi-data-misses-expectations-kospi-leads-gains","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/351683\/","title":{"rendered":"Asia-Pacific markets trade mixed as China PMI data misses expectations; Kospi leads gains"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An employee works on the production line of power batteries and box chassis for new energy vehicles at a workshop on July 11, 2025 in Huaibei, Anhui Province of China.<\/p>\n<p>Li Xin | Visual China Group | Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Asia-Pacific markets traded mixed Monday, after Wall Street saw all three U.S. major indexes climb Friday stateside.<\/p>\n<p>Investors in Asia are assessing manufacturing activity figures out from China after RatingDog published its purchasing managers index for October.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s manufacturing activity slowed to 50.6, missing the 50.9 expected by economists polled by Reuters and lower than September&#8217;s 51.2.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stats.gov.cn\/sj\/zxfbhjd\/202510\/t20251031_1961740.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">official PMI numbers<\/a> released Friday by the National Bureau of Statistics showed that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/10\/31\/china-manufacturing-pmi-october-.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">China&#8217;s manufacturing activity in October<\/a> shrunk to its lowest level in six months, coming in at 49.0.<\/p>\n<p>Hong Kong&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.HSI\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hang Seng index<\/a> rose 0.33%, while mainland China&#8217;s CSI 300 dipped 0.62%.<\/p>\n<p>South Korea&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.KS11\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kospi<\/a> was up 2.16%, leading gains in Asia and touching a new intraday high, while the small-cap Kosdaq gained 1.18%.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.AXJO\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">S&amp;P\/ASX 200<\/a> was 0.24% down.<\/p>\n<p>The country&#8217;s central bank starts its two-day monetary policy meeting today, with economists expecting a hold from the Reserve Bank of Australia after inflation readings came in hotter than expected for the third quarter.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s markets are closed for a public holiday.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday in the U.S., the tech-heavy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.IXIC\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nasdaq Composite<\/a> advanced 0.61% at 23,724.96, while the S&amp;P 500 gained 0.26% to reach 6,840.20.
