The Maize and Blue have won three-straight games, beating Washington (24-7), Michigan State (31-20) and the Boilermakers.

Heading into the Nov. 15 clash against Northwestern, Michigan has been ranked for 116 of its last 137 games and 62 of the last 72 poll releases dating back to the start of the 2015 season. All time, Michigan has been ranked in the AP poll 937 times, the second most of any program in college football.

Six teams in the Big Ten, including the Wolverines, are ranked after the Week 10 slate of games. Ohio State sits at No. 1, while Indiana remains at No. 2. Oregon sits at No. 6 coming off of a bye, USC (No. 20), Michigan (No. 21) and Washington (No. 24) are all near the bottom of the top 25. Iowa is the first team receiving votes, just outside the top 25.

Michigan’s performance against a 2-7 Purdue squad made for a slog of a night in Ann Arbor, and head coach Sherrone Moore said the bye week will be incredibly important.

“Our standard is really high,” Moore said. “So I know on defense, we want to be better than that, and we will. And I thought the thing I’m proud about on the defense is the amount of guys that played, especially young guys, but they understand that’s the standard, right? So that’s what they’re in there for, and then that’s how they would get to attack offensively. Obviously, ran the ball well, got to be better in the passing game.

“And you look in the red zone, if you don’t have two turnovers, it’s probably a different game. It’s either six or 14, but it wasn’t. So the main thing we had to do was finish. So things we’ve got to clean up there, and then special teams-wise, we gotta challenge guys, push them. In the returning game, we gotta make sure we got guys in the right place and see who’s going to be the most reliable in those spots, cuz that’s what’s going to help us win these games. And at the end of the day, we’re 7-2, and we’re in a position to do everything we wanna accomplish and go win.”

Here is the full poll released on Sunday afternoon following the Week 10 slate of games. Each week’s AP Poll will be released on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET for the rest of the season.

The true mark will be revealed on Tuesday night with the unveiling of the College Football Playoff committee’s first batch of rankings.

AP poll: Where Michigan stands heading into Week 11

1.
