A star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame honoring talk show host, actress and comedian Sherri Shepherd will be unveiled Monday in connection with the 30th anniversary of the start of her career.<\/p>\n

Tyler Perry, Niecy Nash and Ira Bernstein are set to join Shepherd in speaking at the 11:30 a.m. ceremony in front of the W Hollywood Hotel.<\/p>\n

Perry produced \u201cPrecious,\u201d the 2009 Oscar best picture nominee Shepherd co-starred in. He directed, wrote and produced the psychological crime drama \u201cStraw,\u201d released in June on Netflix, which Shepherd co-starred as a bank teller who meets a struggling single mother (Taraji P. Henson) who is having the worst day of her life.<\/p>\n

Nash and Shepherd appeared together in the 2005 romantic comedy, \u201cGuess Who.\u201d Shepherd had a recurring role on the 2012-16 TV Land comedy \u201cThe Soul Man,\u201d and Nash was a cast member.<\/p>\n

Bernstein is a co-president of Debmar-Mercury which distributes Shepherd\u2019s syndicated talk show \u201cSherri.\u201d<\/p>\n

The star is the 2,827th since the completion of the Walk of Fame in 1961 with the initial 1,558 stars.<\/p>\n

Born April 22, 1967, in Chicago, Shepherd began her television acting career in 1995 as a cast member on The WB comedy \u201cCleghorne!\u201d which was canceled after 12 episodes aired.<\/p>\n

Shepherd was working as a legal secretary when she was cast as the dim-witted sister of Ellen Carson (Ellen Cleghorne) who aspires to become a model.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy agent told me, \u2018You can quit your job,\u201d\u2019 Shepherd said in a 2018 interview with Ebony. \u201cI had that big break \u2026 and then it was canceled. I lost my apartment, my car was repossessed and I was homeless for a year. I slept on everybody\u2019s couch.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn this business, it\u2019s very uncertain. You can be working one day and not working the next.\u201d<\/p>\n

After guest-starring roles on \u201cClaude\u2019s Crib,\u201d \u201cLiving Single,\u201d \u201cSuddenly Susan\u201d and \u201cFriends,\u201d Shepherd was cast in her second series, \u201cHolding the Baby,\u201d which ran for eight episodes on Fox in 1998.<\/p>\n

Shepherd was a cast member on the NBC comedy \u201cSuddenly Susan\u201d during its final 1999-2000 season, playing a different character than in her 1997 guest-starring appearance.<\/p>\n

Shepherd was also a cast member of the 2001 NBC comedy \u201cEmeril\u201d; the 2002 ABC comedy, \u201cWednesday 9:30 (8:30 Central)\u201d; the 2002-06 ABC comedy \u201cLess Than Perfect\u201d; the 2007 Fox comedy-drama \u201cThe Wedding Bells\u201d; the 2009 Lifetime comedy \u201cSherri\u201d; the 2017-18 NBC mocumentary legal sitcom \u201cTrial & Error\u201d; and the 2019-20 Netflix comedy \u201cMr. Iglesias.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shepherd also had recurring roles on the CBS comedies \u201cEverybody Loves Raymond,\u201d \u201cHow I Met Your Mother\u201d and \u201cMan With a Plan\u201d; the NBC comedy \u201c30 Rock\u201d; the Disney Channel comedy \u201cK.C. Undercover\u201d; The WB comedy \u201cThe Jamie Foxx Show\u201d; the 2021 ABC comedy \u201cCall Your Mother\u201d; and the 2024-25 Netflix teen comedy drama, \u201cThe Sex Lives of College Girls.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shepherd was a host of \u201cThe View\u201d from 2007-14, joining her co-hosts in receiving Daytime Emmy nominations from 2008-2011 and 2014, winning in 2009. She has hosted \u201cSherri\u201d since 2022 after being a guest host of \u201cThe Wendy Williams Show.\u201d<\/p>\n
