{"id":352975,"date":"2025-11-03T16:29:17","date_gmt":"2025-11-03T16:29:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/352975\/"},"modified":"2025-11-03T16:29:17","modified_gmt":"2025-11-03T16:29:17","slug":"phoenix-taps-virginia-exec-as-new-community-and-economic-development-director","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/352975\/","title":{"rendered":"Phoenix taps Virginia exec as new community and economic development director"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The city of Phoenix has selected a candidate with two decades of experience in local government and economic growth to be its new community and economic development director.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan Touhill \u2014 who currently holds an equivalent role in Arlington, Virginia \u2014 will be taking the post left open by Christine Mackay, who announced in August she was stepping down from the role to take the helm of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC).<\/p>\n<p>Touhill has served as Arlington\u2019s economic development director since November 2022. His last day there was set as Nov. 7, according to the announcement of his departure at a Thursday event.
