The Michigan Wolverines are enjoying another much needed bye week this week, but they will have a short stay in Ann Arbor with two road games on the horizon.<\/p>\n
The first road game is quite an unconventional one, as the Wolverines will face Northwestern at the historic home of the Chicago Cubs, Wrigley Field, next Saturday. We are now learning more details about the game, as the Big Ten announced the start times and TV designations for all games in Week 12. This one will begin at noon and be aired on FOX.<\/p>\n
Northwestern has put together a quietly impressive 2025 season. Led by second-year full-time head coach David Braun, the Wildcats had won four games in a row prior to a road loss at Nebraska a couple weeks ago. They have beaten UCLA \u2014 which has been on fire ever since that loss \u2014 as well as other conference foes in Penn State and Purdue this season.<\/p>\n
Overall, Northwestern is 5-3 overall on the season and definitely not where it was at a season ago when it was 4-8 overall and 2-7 in the Big Ten. Up next for the Wildcats is a road game at USC on Friday night.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Wolverines narrowly escaped the Purdue Boilermakers, 21-16, on Saturday night in Ann Arbor. Bryce Underwood turned the ball over twice \u2014 both times in the red zone \u2014 and only managed to throw for 145 yards against one of the worst pass defenses in the conference. Thankfully, Jordan Marshall stepped up with a career-high 185 rushing yards and three touchdowns to save the day, even though he may not have been satisfied<\/a> with his overall performance.<\/p>\n Michigan is on an eight-game winning streak against Northwestern, with its last loss coming all the way in 2008, losing 21-14 at the Big House. Michigan has not lost a road game against Northwestern since 2000 (54-51 in Evanston).
