A driver who fled from police broke into an Allied Gardens home on Halloween night and barricaded himself inside a bathroom before being arrested, San Diego police said.<\/p>\n
The pursuit began shortly after 10 p.m. Friday, when officers tried to stop a white Ford truck that had run a red light at Navajo Road and Park Ridge Boulevard, police Lt. Travis Easter said. The driver did not stop and fled, he said.<\/p>\n
After about 10 minutes, officers used a spike strip, flattening his tires and causing him to ditch the truck in a neighborhood, police said. He ran off, broke into an occupied home on Hamlet Court and barricaded himself into the bathroom, police said.<\/p>\n
Afraid of the potential for hostages, officers followed the suspect inside and fought with him. Police deployed a Taser, and he was taken into custody. He was booked into jail after being evaluated at a hospital.<\/p>\n
