Now 18-4 overall and 11-0 in West Coast Conference play, USD has climbed 26 places in three weeks to rank 36th nationally.<\/p>\n<p>And Mesa College ran its winning streak to 20 straight to move to 23-1 overall while remaining undefeated in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference action. The Olympians are ranked second to Feather River in the California Community College rankings.<\/p>\n<p>A third local women\u2019s college volleyball team on a run is Point Loma Nazarene (19-2, 7-0). The Sea Lions, who are ranked fifth in the nation among NCAA Division II teams, have won six straight matches. Saren Rogers had 24 kills, Sophia Baugh had 48 assists and Hailey Wilson had 21 digs in a 3-1 win at Vanguard.<\/p>\n<p>Nemo Beach led the Toreros with 25 kills in last week\u2019s two shutout wins. Isabel Clark had 17 kills and two aces. Ava Durgan had a career-high 13 kills against LMU. Olivia Bennett had 30 digs and Beach added seven in the two wins. Kylie Munday had 62 assists.<\/p>\n<p>Men\u2019s soccer<\/p>\n<p>USD\u2019s eight-ranked men\u2019s soccer team stretched its winning streak to four straight, beating Pacific 1-0 at Alcala Park on Iain Wagner\u2019s sixth goal of the season. The Toreros are 11-2-3.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 San Diego State (7-6-2) will face San Jose Sunday in Riverside in the Western Athletic Conference Tournament opener after losing its regular-season finale 2-1 to league champion Cal Baptist.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 UC San Diego (2-8-7) opens Big West Tournament play on Wednesday at top-seeded Cal Poly.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Cal State San Marcos (6-7-3) defeated UC Merced 1-0 to clinch a California Collegiate Athletic Association playoff berth. Brooklyn Baker\u2019s 74th-minute goal was the difference.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Point Loma Nazarene (11-3-1) scored a 2-1 win at Westmont. The Sea Lions are ranked 14th among the nation\u2019s Division II teams.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Defending state champion Cuyamaca College (15-1-2, 9-1-1) defeated MiraCosta College 2-0 on a pair of Diego Esquivel goals to maintain a one-game conference lead on MiraCosta (8-2-1, 9-3-6) and Palomar (8-2-1, 10-5-3).<\/p>\n<p>Women\u2019s soccer<\/p>\n<p>San Diego State (9-4-6) rides a three-game winning streak into Wednesday night\u2019s Mountain West Tournament semifinal against top-ranked Boise State in Idaho. The Aztecs defeated Colorado State 1-0 in their tourney opener. Mia Hambro Svendsen scored the game\u2019s only goal on a pass from Charlie Gerson in the 84th minute, while freshman goalkeeper Kailey Carlen turned in the shutout.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Charlotte Wilfert made six saves in her ninth shutout of the season to lead UC San Diego (5-6-8) to a 1-0 win over UC Santa Barbara. Alexis Nguyen scored the game\u2019s lone goal in the 81st minute.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Cal State San Marcos (7-5-4) beat Merced 1-0 after losing 2-1 at No. 4 Cal Poly Pomona.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 USD (4-5-7) suffered a 4-1 loss at San Francisco<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Julia Pinnell recorded her sixth shutout as PLNU (7-3-4) scored a 1-0 win at Westmont after losing 2-1 to Azusa Pacific at home.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Jaedyn Thibedeau (Mira Mesa High School) scored nine goals in two wins for PCAC-leading Miramar College (9-2-3, 11-4-4). Following the Jets are Southwestern (9-2-2, 11-2-4), Palomar (8-1-4, 10-2-5) and MiraCosta (8-1-3, 9-4-4).<\/p>\n<p>Men\u2019s tennis<\/p>\n<p>San Diego State lost to Loyola Marymount in the championship match of the Jack Kramer Classic after defeating UC Santa Barbara and UCLA. The Aztec doubles teams of Denis Maijorov-William Kleege (Torrey Pines High School) and Aleksi Lofman-Eugenio Gonzalez Fitzmaurice (California Pacific Charter School) each went 3-0 over the three days<\/p>\n<p>JC football<\/p>\n<p>Southwestern College (6-3) suffered a third straight loss Saturday by a 48-7 count at Saddleback.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Mesa College (4-5) won 35-31 at Mt. San Jacinto. Quarterback Reggie Johnson (Madison High School) completed 19 of 33 passes for 333 yards and four touchdowns. Wide receiver Aleonte Logan (Morse High School) had seven catches for 126 yards and two scores, while wide receiver Troy Bassler had seven catches for 118 yards and a touchdown.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Palomar College (2-7) won 31-27 at Chaffey. Quarterback Jakob Harris (Oceanside High School) completed 19 of 35 passes for 397 yards and three touchdowns. Furious Hoskins had six catches for 102 yards.
