WASHINGTON \u2014 President Trump said Sunday that he planned to help the creator of the satirical comic strip \u201cDilbert\u201d get access to a prostate cancer drug.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Scott Adams, known for his office humor comic Dilbert as well as his controversial opinions livestreamed on YouTube, wrote early Sunday morning on X<\/a> that he was going to ask Trump \u2014 whom he said had previously offered help if needed \u2014 to save his life.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs many of you know, I have metastasized prostate cancer,\u201d he wrote. \u201cMy healthcare provider, Kaiser of Northern California, has approved my application to receive a newly FDA-approved drug called Pluvicto,\u201d referring to a targeted therapy for metastatic prostate cancer approved in March by the Food and Drug Administration for use earlier in treatment<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cBut they have dropped the ball in scheduling the brief IV to administer it and I can\u2019t seem to fix that,\u201d he added. He asked for the president\u2019s help in getting it scheduled for Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Trump saw the tweet Sunday, according to a source familiar with the situation who was granted anonymity to speak freely, and called Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Mehmet Oz to ask what they could do for Adams. Oz, according to the source, spoke with both Adams and Kaiser representatives on the phone, with the latter planning to quickly resolve the issue.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Trump also posted a screenshot of Adams\u2019 request on Truth Social<\/a>, writing \u201cOn it!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. had also replied earlier from his personal X account, asking Adams how he could get in touch<\/a>. \u201cThe President wants to help,\u201d Kennedy wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In a statement to STAT, Kaiser Permanente of Northern California said, \u201cMr. Adams\u2019 oncology team is working closely with him on the next steps in his cancer care, which are already underway. Since it was approved by the FDA three years ago, Kaiser Permanente\u2019s nuclear medicine and medical oncology experts have treated more than 150 patients with Lu-177 PSMA (Pluvicto) in Northern California alone. We know this drug and this disease.\u201d<\/p>\n

Neither the White House nor HHS responded to questions about what happens next.<\/p>\n

Adams announced in May he had the \u201csame cancer\u201d as President Biden and said he expected to die sometime this year. His long-running comic was dropped from its distributors in 2023 after Adams posted a racist rant on YouTube calling Black people a \u201chate group.\u201d Adams has continued to livestream daily on YouTube, where he shares his political opinions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In his May stream announcing his cancer, he said he\u2019d used anti-parasitic medications ivermectin and fenbendazole to treat himself, but they didn\u2019t work.
