{"id":354884,"date":"2025-11-04T11:36:14","date_gmt":"2025-11-04T11:36:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/354884\/"},"modified":"2025-11-04T11:36:14","modified_gmt":"2025-11-04T11:36:14","slug":"light-up-ahwatukee-holiday-fest-returning-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/354884\/","title":{"rendered":"Light Up Ahwatukee holiday fest returning | News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">It\u2019s coming back, Ahwatukee.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">The small nonprofit Light Up Ahwatukee is bringing back its holiday festival the Saturday before Thanksgiving, Nov. 22, with promises for another festive opening to the holiday season here.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">\u201cWhat started as a neighborhood holiday celebration 28 years ago, has grown into one of Ahwatukee\u2019s most anticipated annual events,\u201d said Co-President Bobbi Roberts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">From 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Nov. 22, Desert Foothills Park will be transformed into what Roberts called \u201ca dazzling celebration of lights, laughter, and local pride.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">The day-long event will feature music, local vendors, great food, Santa\u2019s Village, a puppy adoption, and a Kids Zone packed with bouncy houses and fun activities for all ages \u2013 as well as the traditional lighted motorcycle parade.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">\u201cThis festival represents everything Ahwatukee stands for\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0 community, creativity, and connection,\u201d said Roberts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">\u201cIt\u2019s our favorite day of the year because it brings together neighbors, local businesses, and families to celebrate the start of the holiday season in true Ahwatukee fashion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">Among the highlights of the day is Marketplace Way, which she called \u201cthe perfect first stop for holiday shopping.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">\u201cNearly 40 arts and crafts vendors are preparing their goods, offering handmade jewelry, clothing, packaged foods, and unique gifts,\u201d Roberts said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">She added that the blend of returning favorites and new artisans \u2013 all local to the Phoenix area and many from Ahwatukee itself \u2013 \u201cmakes this one of the most anticipated local markets of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">The Service Vendor Marketplace adds even more variety, showcasing local businesses that make life easier and healthier, including Bridge Wellness Center, The Summit School, and Kokopelli Dentistry.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">Many booths will host interactive activities, raffles, and giveaways for a fun, family friendly experience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">\u201cThe Festival of Lights has been a great tradition in the community over the past many years and we are so grateful to participate annually,\u201d said Rakees Kumar, owner of Chris\u2019 Water and Ice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">\u201cIt is so lovely to see friendly faces, new and old, all gathering to celebrate the holidays with their neighbors and friends.\u00a0We are so thankful to be members of this community and cannot wait to continue serving and celebrating with everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">Food vendors will include I Dream of Weenies, Cutie\u2019s Lemonade, and Little Caesar\u2019s Pizza, and Roberts said there will be \u201ca tempting variety of bites from mini donuts and teriyaki bowls to burgers and snow cones.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">Festivalgoers can also raise a glass at the Wren S\u00fcdhalle Beer Garden, returning this year as the official beer sponsor.
