However, there’s a way to save a hefty sum on an Apple Watch<\/a> by opting for an older refurbished model, and there’s one currently up for grabs as part of Wowcher’s early Black Friday deals<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bargain hunters who visit the Wowcher site can find either Apple Watch Series 5<\/a> or Series 6 devices<\/a> starting from just \u00a389 – that’s nearly \u00a3111 shaved off the full price of \u00a3199.95. Equipped with most of the essential features you’d find on a brand new Apple Watch, they’re a fantastic way to experience Apple’s wearable tech without splashing out the full price.<\/p>\n

The models on offer are refurbished, which means they’ve had a previous owner. However, they’ve been restored to their former glory and should still function as expected, albeit with a few cosmetic marks here and there.<\/p>\n

The Apple Watch Series 5<\/a>, launched in 2019, was the first of its kind to feature an always-on display, allowing users to check the time without the need for any awkward wrist movements to wake up the screen.<\/p>\n

In addition to this, it boasts a host of health tracking features typical of a smart watch, such as heart rate and workout tracking. It also comes with a built-in GPS sensor, ideal for fitness enthusiasts who like to record their workouts and upload them to Strava.<\/p>\n

For those who’d rather purchase a brand new watch instead of a refurbished one, the Garmin Forerunner 255<\/a> might be a suitable alternative. This fitness tracker is specifically designed for sports training and boasts a 14-day battery life. It’s currently on offer for \u00a3199.99, reduced from \u00a3299.99.<\/p>\n

Another option is the Cillso Smart Watch<\/a>, which is currently Amazon’s number one best seller. Not only can it take calls and track health metrics, but it’s also currently discounted to \u00a323.99 from \u00a3129.99, reports the Manchester Evening News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Customers who purchased a refurbished Apple Watch Series 5<\/a> from Amazon were highly satisfied, with one writing: “Bought this for my partner and he thinks it’s a brand new watch. It came in the packaged box like a new one and does everything a new Apple Watch would.”<\/p>\n

Another customer chimed in: “Excellent condition and exactly what I’d hoped to receive as a refurbished product. Very pleased.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, another reviewer noted: “My Apple Watch Series 5 was in excellent condition, with only 2 tiny very minor scratches, basically as good as new. The only downside is that the strap provided isn’t an original apple strap and is quite flimsy in comparison, so this may have to be changed in the future.”<\/p>\n

It’s worth bearing in mind that the Wowcher refurbished devices<\/a> are supplied by Renew Electronics, which has some questionable reviews on Trustpilot. There are some five-star testimonials, like this review from Chris: “Can’t really fault them.. ordered a “good” Apple Watch Series 4, arrived a few days later than it advised but I think that was a Royal Mail issue, customer service good and helpful, quite a small deep scratch on the screen which you can’t see when lit. Overall pretty good.”<\/p>\n

However, there are a few less favourable reviews that caution shoppers that not every refurbished device meets the same quality standards: “Received watch nice and quick battery life is ok but watch has a deep scratch on face and also no charger cable. For the money it’s ok.”<\/p>\n
