We’ve been hearing quite a lot about the casting for the new Street Fighter film lately, and it sounds like they’ve finally found their big bad villain.

A new report suggests Legendary and Capcom have apparently landed on someone in particular to portray M. Bison from an unexpected source.<\/p>\n

According to Deadline<\/a>, David Dastmalchian is reportedly signing on to the movie for the big Shadaloo boss, who will likely serve as the primary antagonist to the world warrior crew.<\/p>\n
Dastmalchian may be most recognizable as Polka-Dot Man in The Suicide Squad and his role in the Ant-Man films, but he has a career spanning back over 20 years showing up in Oppenheimer, Dune: Part One, Late Night with the Devil, The Life of Chuck, The Doctor Fearless Show, The Flash, Twin Peaks and many more films \/ series.<\/p>\n

He does stand six feet tall, so he’s a bit taller than average though his typical lankier build make him an interesting choice for the imposing villain.<\/p>\n
The same could have been said about Raul Julia, however, who stole the show as Bison in the original 1994 Street Fighter movie \u2014 so we’ll just have to wait and see what Dastmalchian brings to the evil table.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, there were reports that WWE’s Cody Rhodes is in talks to play Guile in the Street Fighter film<\/a>, and he’s not the only wrestler they’re pulling from either.<\/p>\n
Jason Momoa and Roman Reigns are also said to be on board with the fighting game adaptation<\/a> as potentially Blanka and Akuma respectively.<\/p>\n
We recently learned as well that rapper 50 Cent will be joining in on the fun as Balrog<\/a> while Callina Liang is set to be the new Chun-Li<\/a>.<\/p>\n
The first casting reports featured Andrew Koji as Ryu and Noah Centineo playing Ken Masters too<\/a>.<\/p>\n
Andrew Schulz is on board to be Dan Hibiki also while Orville Peck will be another Shadaloo general in Vega.<\/p>\n
Legendary’s Street Fighter film was originally set for a March 2026 release, but that was unsurprisingly pushed back to an unknown time<\/a>.<\/p>\n
The project is now being directed by Kitao Sakurai<\/a>, and it’ll probably be quite a long time before we see a trailer or anything for the movie.<\/p>\n
