James Keivom<\/p>\n<p>The turnout so far eclipses the 1.15 million people \u2013 including just over 250,000 early and mail-in ballots \u2013 who voted in the last mayoral election that vaulted Eric Adams into his one and only term in office.<\/p>\n<p>And hours remained for even more voters to cast ballots, as polling locations across all five boroughs weren\u2019t set to shut until 9 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>As of midday, just over 478,000 had cast ballots in Brooklyn and 383,000 in Manhattan, including early voters, Board of Elections data shows.<\/p>\n<p>Andrew Cuomo went to vote along with his daughters in Brooklyn Tuesday morning. AP<\/p>\n<p>Queens trailed behind with 343,000, the Bronx with 146,000 and Staten Island with 101,000, the data shows.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/11\/04\/us-news\/zohran-mamdani-casts-ballot-in-nyc-mayoral-election-while-stressing-the-need-for-more-housing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Democratic socialist nominee Zohran Mamdani,\u00a0<\/a>Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa and former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who is running as an independent, all voted first thing Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Follow the latest on the 2025 New York City mayoral election: <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI voted for Cuomo. I like him. He\u2019s trying to follow in his father\u2019s footsteps, keeping the legacy going,\u201d Omar Edwards, a 46 year-old engineer, told The Post at a Brooklyn polling location.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy mother voted for Zohran. I know nothing about the man. You want to defund the police, tax the rich \u2013 that\u2019s the Z-man. That\u2019s all I know about him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>COP candidate Curtis Sliwa joined his wife Nancy when she voted Tuesday morning on W 72st.  Robert Miller<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Adrian Buckmaster, 70, and his 56-year-old partner, Irene Delgado, both backed Mamdani.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cZohran is a breath of fresh air,\u201d Buckmaster said. \u201cI think he\u2019s straight and honest. He walks the walk. I hope it works.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf he gets in by a good margin, I think it\u2019ll change how people see politics. It\u2019ll give the right a big jolt. REUTERS<\/p>\n<p>In a last ditch effort to sway New Yorkers, Cuomo trashed Mamdani\u2019s rhetoric and argued a ballot for Sliwa was a wasted vote \u2013 soon after President Trump threw his support behind the former governor on the eve of the election.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/11\/04\/us-news\/nyc-mayoral-election-live-updates-results-reactions-from-races-across-the-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Follow The Post\u2019s Election Day live updates for results, analysis, photos and more on NYC\u2019s mayoral race<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Trump saying to the Republicans, \u2018Don\u2019t vote for Sliwa, you are wasting your vote,\u2019 that could be very helpful,\u201d Cuomo told Fox News\u2019 \u201cFox &amp; Friends.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Trump is pragmatic. He is telling them the reality of the situation, which is if you do not vote, Mamdani is going to win. Republicans, you have to get up and come out and vote. Even if you are not voting Republican, you are voting to save New York City.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s all B.S.
