It\u2019s hard to see him way back there, but that\u2019s Kyler Murray on the bench now.<\/p>\n
Head coach Jonathan Gannon just announced that Jacoby Brissett, not Murray, will be the Arizona Cardinals starting quarterback moving forward.<\/p>\n
The immediate reports made it sound like this was a play-based decision.<\/p>\n
Which it should be. That would be smart.<\/p>\n
Because Kyler Murray has been terrible. Brissett has actually beaten a team lately.<\/p>\n
But alas, subsequently, the verbiage coming out of Arizona is that they are buying more time for Murray\u2019s foot to heal, with a new timetable of 4-8 weeks yada yada.<\/p>\n
But then Gannon also revealed that even a healthy Murray wouldn\u2019t start over Brissett right now.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ll be brief: saving the season is a tall order for the Cardinals. The NFL is all about the little things, and they haven\u2019t done nearly any of those well this season. Gannon is hoping the decision will give his team a small boost to turn things around. Many experts had lofty expectations for this Arizona roster, ones that Murray has not been able to reach.<\/p>\n
Instead, the Seattle Seahawks will prepare for Jacoby Brissett and the 27 points they scored against the Dallas Cowboys. It\u2019s at home this time, so a 1:05PM start time will greet the newly-elevated quarterback.<\/p>\n
Brissett has played once in Seattle in his career, a game in 2017 for the Indianapolis Colts, which they lost 46-18 to the Seahawks at the hands of an interception return for TD by Justin Coleman and a fumble recovery for TD by Bobby Wagner.
