{"id":356521,"date":"2025-11-05T03:30:15","date_gmt":"2025-11-05T03:30:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/356521\/"},"modified":"2025-11-05T03:30:15","modified_gmt":"2025-11-05T03:30:15","slug":"bad-companys-paul-rodgers-drops-out-of-rock-hall-of-fame-induction-ceremony","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/356521\/","title":{"rendered":"Bad Company&#8217;s Paul Rodgers drops out of Rock Hall of Fame induction ceremony"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019re in sad company.<\/p>\n<p>Bad Company singer Paul Rodgers won\u2019t be attending the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/04\/27\/entertainment\/cyndi-lauper-outkast-are-2025-rock-hall-inductees-no-mariah-carey\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2025 Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony<\/a> on Saturday, Nov. 8, due to concerns regarding his health.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy hope was to be at the Rock &amp; Rock Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health,\u201d Rodgers, 75, announced on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DQm1S2wE2wX\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Instagram<\/a> on Monday. <\/p>\n<p>The Bad Company singer announced that he won\u2019t be attending the 2025 Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in an Instagram message to the band\u2019s fans on Nov. 3, 2025. Instagram\/officialbadco<\/p>\n<p>Paul Rodgers said he\u2019d be unable to attend the ceremony. Owen Sweeney\/Invision\/AP<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have no problem singing, it\u2019s the stress of everything else,\u201d he added. \u201cThanks for understanding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, the \u201cCan\u2019t Get Enough\u201d singer revealed that former bandmate Simon Kirke and \u201csome outstanding musicians\u201d will be \u201cstepping in\u201d for him at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGuaranteed to rock,\u201d he concluded his message.<\/p>\n<p>Rodgers performing with Bad Company in Liverpool, England, in March 1974. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Fans of the English rock supergroup, meanwhile, rushed to the comments section of Rodgers\u2019 post to show their support and wish him well amid his unspecified health woes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh no! So looking forward to seeing one of the best rock frontmen ever perform,\u201d one person wrote. \u201cTake Care, though, your spirit will be alive there that night!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAh man, I was looking forward to him performing,\u201d added another. \u201cHope he\u2019s ok, that\u2019s all that matters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe love you, Paul, take care!\u201d commented a third fan, while a fourth shared, \u201cGet well! That\u2018s most important.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Post has reached out to Rodgers\u2019 rep for comment.<\/p>\n<p>During an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/paul-rodgers-health-crisis-nearly-silenced-his-voice-i-couldnt-speak\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">CBS News<\/a> back in 2023, the \u201cRock \u2018n\u2019 Roll Fantasy\u201d crooner revealed that he had secretly suffered two major strokes and 11 minor ones.<\/p>\n<p>Rodgers and guitarist Mick Ralphs onstage during a Bad Company show at Charlton Athletic in London, England, on May 18, 1974. WireImage<\/p>\n<p>The startling health scares left Rodgers without the ability to speak, and he almost lost his ability to sing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI couldn\u2019t do anything to be honest,\u201d he told the outlet two years ago. \u201cI couldn\u2019t speak. That was the very strange thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued, \u201cYou know, I\u2019d prepare something in my mind and I\u2019d say it, but that isn\u2019t what came out and I\u2019d go, \u2018What the heck did I just say?&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rodgers and Ralphs in New York on April 5, 1999. He later suffered another in October 2019, which led to a major surgery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey told me, they\u2019re very clear, \u2018You may not come out of this alive,&#8217;\u201d Rodgers recalled. \u201cAnd I said, \u2018Oh, well, that\u2019s a plus, isn\u2019t it?&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd when I woke up, I opened my eyes, I thought, \u2018Oh, I\u2019m still here,&#8217;\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Bad Company during a concert in Germany on April 21, 1979. United Archives via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Rodgers did not specify whether his decision to drop out of the upcoming Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony was due to his ongoing stroke recovery. <\/p>\n<p>Chubby Checker, another 2025 inductee, previously announced that he <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/08\/13\/entertainment\/chubby-checker-reveals-hes-skipping-his-rock-amp-roll-hall-of-fame-induction-ceremony-in-la\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">would be skipping the night<\/a> as well.<\/p>\n<p>Kirke, meanwhile, expressed his excitement to reunite with Rodgers on the Peacock Theater stage just a few days before the \u201cShooting Star\u201d singer revealed he wouldn\u2019t be attending the event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re going to play, and whatever Paul chooses is fine by me!\u201d the drummer, 76, said during Lyndsey Parker\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vs6NG7oniJQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">\u201cLyndsanity\u201d podcast<\/a> on Oct. 28. \u201cJust to play with him again is going to be a real thrill for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI missed him,\u201d Kirke continued. \u201cI missed playing with the band. Owen Sweeney\/Invision\/AP<\/p>\n<p>Rodgers and Kirke are <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/05\/07\/bad-company-singer-brian-howe-dead-of-cardiac-arrest-at-66\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the last two surviving members<\/a> from Bad Company\u2019s original formation. Bassist Raymond \u201cBoz\u201d Burrell passed away in September 2006 at the age of 60, while guitarist\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/06\/23\/entertainment\/mick-ralphs-founding-member-of-bad-company-and-mott-the-hoople-dies-at-81\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mick Ralphs\u00a0died this past June<\/a> at 81.<\/p>\n<p>But Bad Company, which <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2002\/06\/19\/good-vibe-from-bad-company\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">formed in 1973<\/a> and seemingly disbanded for good in 2019, will still be honored during the biggest night in rock and roll on Nov. 8.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBad Company were one of rock\u2019s first and most successful supergroups, both live and on record,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/rockhall.com\/inductees\/bad-company\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame\u2019s official\u00a0website<\/a> reads. \u201cBy combining arena-ready blues-rock swagger with Top 40 hits, they distinguished themselves from their peers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<script async src=\"\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"We\u2019re in sad company.
