Trent Alexander-Arnold did not have the homecoming he would have hoped for.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Reds made it back-to-back victories after beating Real Madrid, with their performance being much better than most games so far this season.<\/p>\n

The biggest talking point, though, was about Alexander-Arnold<\/a>, with the former Liverpool<\/a> player returning to Anfield<\/a> for the first time.<\/p>\n

He came off the bench late on but failed to make any sort of impact, with the majority of the crowd booing him every time he touched the ball. <\/p>\n

Whether people agree or not, that is up to them, but Thibaut Courtois made a plea to Reds fans after the game regarding this matter.<\/p>\n

Almost everyone knew Trent would get a bad reception when he returned given how he departed the club, and Reds fans certainly let their feelings be known.<\/p>\n

They were heard booing, while singing the songs of both Steven Gerrard and Conor Bradley throughout, letting him know that he is not missed.<\/p>\n

Courtois, however, hopes that one day, Liverpool fans will forgive him, with the goalkeeper coming out after the game to speak about it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s a pity, I\u2019m not judging the fans, they can have their own opinion, but he\u2019s a young kid who played his whole career at Liverpool. We only have one career,\u201d he said to BeinSports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like they are hurt by this decision as they wanted something different.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope that the fans can forgive him. In the longer term, and eventually he can come back and they\u2019ll honour him for all the trophies he won.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trent Alexander-Arnold had a bad night<\/p>\n

Not only did he start on the bench, but Alexander-Arnold was given almost no time at all to make an impact in the game.<\/p>\n

His crosses were also poor, something that the Liverpool fans loved to see and jeered after almost every one of them.<\/p>\n

As well as this, Bradley had one of his best games to date, showing how the Reds do not miss the scouser one bit.<\/p>\n
