A woman injured during an altercation at a convenience store in Hollywood died Wednesday, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n
LAPD officers responded to the 7-Eleven store located on the 5700 block of Melrose Avenue on June 24 at around 2:15 p.m.\u00a0According to preliminary information, two women were in a verbal altercation that later turned physical.\u00a0<\/p>\n
When police arrived, a woman believed to be in her 20s was found unconscious on the floor of the store, LAPD said. <\/p>\n
The victim, later identified as Jessica McLaughlin, was taken to a hospital. She was in critical condition and then pronounced dead on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
According to LAPD, investigators have obtained video evidence of the incident but are not releasing it at this time.<\/p>\n
The LA County Medical Examiner’s Office is also investigating the incident and is working to determine the victim’s cause and manner of death.<\/p>\n
