It was a busy NFL trade deadline for Jerry Jones and the Cowboys<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dallas made a pair of moves Tuesday to bolster the defensive side of the ball, trading for defensive tackle Quinnen Williams<\/a> and linebacker Logan Wilson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how media outlets across the country graded the Cowboys\u2019 moves:<\/p>\n

Seth Walder, an analytics writer at ESPN, was not kind in his evaluation of the Cowboys\u2019 blockbuster move for Williams. He wrote it was a \u201chorrific trade for the Cowboys\u201d and gave Dallas an F grade for the move<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is completely unfathomable for a team like Dallas to be trading away major draft resources for a soon-to-be-28-year-old defensive tackle on a salary-heavy contract in a season when it has a 7% chance to make the playoffs,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Walder gave Dallas a much better grade, a B-, for their early morning trade for Wilson, writing that it “does look like he could help the Cowboys.”<\/p>\n

Yahoo Sports<\/p>\n

Dallas got a B+ grade for their trade deadline moves from Yahoo Sports<\/a>. They wrote that the move for Williams \u201cinstantly improves the defense\u201d while the addition of Wilson \u201cis a potential upgrade\u201d at a low cost.<\/p>\n

USA Today<\/p>\n

The Cowboys earned a B+ from USA Today\u2019s Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz<\/a> for the Williams trade, writing that \u201cthe move changes the complexion of a unit short on any hope of a turnaround, and the future is bright.\u201d<\/p>\n

Middlehurst-Schwartz gave the Cowboys a middling C- grade for the Wilson move, calling it an \u201can awfully big kerfuffle for a so-so return.\u201d <\/p>\n

FOX Sports<\/p>\n

FOX Sports NFL reporter Greg Auman gave Dallas\u2019 move<\/a> for Williams a C- grade. He took a big picture look in his evaluation, writing that adding the Pro Bowl defensive lineman does not make Dallas a playoff team while depleting its draft assets moving forward.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys received another C- grade for the Wilson move, but Auman wrote that \u201cit\u2019s a fairly harmless trade.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Athletic<\/p>\n

The Athletic\u2018s Jeff Rowe gave the Cowboys<\/a> a B- grade for the Williams move, writing that it was a tough one to grade, but that the defensive tackle has a chance to be \u201ca cornerstone piece for at least another couple of years.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Wilson move got a C+ grade, with Rowe calling Wilson \u201ca productive player\u201d and adding that \u201cit\u2019s hardly a stretch to think a change of scenery could help.\u201d<\/p>\n
