The sandwich-slinging deli had been open for the past 37 years, most of the time run by co-owners George Firrantello and Tony Turrigiano. The Cobble Hill store opened in 2017, serving all sorts of baked goods and pastries. Its original bakery in Greenpoint, which <a href=\"https:\/\/greenpointers.com\/2014\/07\/22\/french-pastries-get-fancy-at-charlotte-patisserie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">opened<\/a> in 2011, is still running. 201 Court Street, near Wyckoff Street<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\"><strong>East Harlem:<\/strong> Year-old micro-bakery <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/atlasconchas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Atla\u2019s Conchas<\/strong><\/a> shuttered its Manhattan shop for <a href=\"https:\/\/boston.eater.com\/coming-attractions\/121863\/atlas-conchas-nyc-closed-opening-vermont-bakery\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a Vermont relocation later<\/a> this summer. Co-owners and couple Mauricio Lopez Martinez and Caroline Anders had focused on Oaxacan-styled and American baked goods like the namesake conchas, as well as babka and snacking cakes. 347 East 109th Street, near First Avenue<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\"><strong>Little Italy:<\/strong> 11-year-old <strong>Baz Bagel<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DKzVrWhxEj_\/?img_index=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">closed<\/a> on Sunday, June 22. Owner Bari Musacchio <a href=\"https:\/\/ny.eater.com\/new-york-restaurant-news\/399259\/baz-bagel-manhattan-closing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tells Eater<\/a> that it was time for her to move on from the business and that an uptown bagel operator will be taking over the space. 181 Grand Street, at Mulberry Street<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\"><strong>Lower East Side:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/ny.eater.com\/maps\/top-chef-restaurants-nyc-chefs-cooking-television-show-kwame-onwuachi-printemps-pig-and-khao-huso\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Top Chef contestant<\/a> Leah Cohen closed her original Southeast Asian restaurant, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pigandkhao.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Pig &amp; Khao<\/strong><\/a><strong>, <\/strong>on Sunday, June 22. The team <a href=\"https:\/\/ny.eater.com\/2025\/6\/6\/24444431\/pig-and-khao-closing-lower-east-side-piggyback-leah-cohen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">decided to close<\/a> because the lease was up for renewal on the 13-year-old restaurant; they decided not to stay open because the building required \u201csignificant investment to remain operational.\u201d She also shuttered her other restaurant, Piggyback (see below); her remaining restaurant is Pig &amp; Khao\u2019s more recent Upper West Side location. 68 Clinton Street, near Rivington Street<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\"><strong>Midtown South:<\/strong> Concurrently with the Lower East Side Pig &amp; Khao, Cohen <a href=\"https:\/\/ny.eater.com\/coming-attractions\/399514\/bar-boulud-boulud-sud-closing-manhattan-daniel-boulud\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">also closed<\/a> her offshoot pan-Asian restaurant <a href=\"https:\/\/ny.eater.com\/2020\/1\/14\/21064302\/piggyback-leah-cohen-nyc-pig-and-khao\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Piggyback<\/strong><\/a> on Sunday, June 22. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DKfjWh0vrMa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Instagram post explained<\/a> the shutter due to \u201cthe ongoing economic challenges facing so many in our industry.\u201d 140 West 30th Street, near Seventh Avenue<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\"><strong>Red Hook: <\/strong>Cafe and vintage store <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/redhookcoffeeshop\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Red Hook Coffee Shop<\/strong><\/a> had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DLI1qAoAxZH\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">its last day<\/a> on Monday, June 24. The Instagram post announced that its next-door neighbor, <a href=\"https:\/\/ny.eater.com\/2019\/7\/18\/20699324\/red-hook-tavern-billy-durney-open-menu-nyc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Red Hook Tavern<\/a>, is going to be taking over the space. 327 Van Brunt Street, near Sullivan Street<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\"><strong>Soho:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.princestreethg.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prince Street Hospitality<\/a> closed down its Greek restaurant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/lolataverna\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Lola Taverna<\/strong><\/a> on Saturday, June 21. The company operates other restaurants like Italian spot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cucinaalba.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cucina Alba<\/a> in Chelsea and pizzeria Lucali in Carroll Gardens. 210 Sixth Avenue, at Prince Street<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\"><strong>Upper West Side:<\/strong> Acclaimed French chef Daniel Boulud <a href=\"https:\/\/ny.eater.com\/coming-attractions\/399514\/bar-boulud-boulud-sud-closing-manhattan-daniel-boulud\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">closed down<\/a> three of his restaurants, <a href=\"https:\/\/barboulud.com\/nyc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Bar Boulud<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/bouludsud.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Boulud Sud<\/strong><\/a>, and the neighborhood location of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epicerieboulud.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>\u00c9picerie Boulud<\/strong><\/a>, on Monday, June 23. The chef is holding onto the spaces, turning them into a new, unnamed brasserie set to open later around the winter holidays. Broadway and West 64th Street<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\"><strong>Williamsburg:<\/strong> Japanese restaurant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bozubrooklyn.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Bozu<\/strong><\/a> closed on Saturday, June 21, <a href=\"https:\/\/greenpointers.com\/2025\/05\/19\/williamsburgs-bozu-closing-after-21-years\/?jetpack_skip_subscription_popup\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">as reported by Greenpointers<\/a>. The co-owners <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DJVXwR5tex5\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> the shutter on Instagram, sharing that they weren\u2019t able to come to a good lease renewal agreement and that they\u2019re looking for a new location. Chef Pierre Thiam had opened the restaurant inside the Africa Center in 2019, <a href=\"https:\/\/ny.eater.com\/2019\/1\/25\/18197423\/teranga-pierre-thiam-harlem-nyc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">focusing<\/a> on ancient African grains.
