The 2025 NFL trade deadline has come and gone. Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> general manager Howie Roseman was very aggressive, although he didn’t end up making the massive blockbuster trade that the team had been connected to leading up to the deadline.<\/p>\n

Myles Garrett was a name connected to the Eagles in the days before the trade deadline. Despite the rumors, the Cleveland Browns<\/a> ended up keeping Garrett and Philadelphia did not bring him onboard.<\/p>\n

At one point, a report broke about the Eagles being willing to offer three first round draft picks for Garrett. That would have been the kind of godfather offer the Browns would have needed to move their franchise superstar.<\/p>\n

With that being said, Philadelphia made a few other moves. Roseman acquired pieces like Jaelan Phillips, Jaire Alexander, and Michael Carter II. All of those pieces will help the Eagles in their attempt for a second straight Super Bowl win.<\/p>\n

Following the trade deadline passing, Roseman spoke out about the Garrett trade rumors. He sent a strong message about his approach to aggressive trades, talking specifically about the rumored move for Garrett.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen there\u2019s opportunities to be aggressive for the right players, we\u2019re not going to sit on our hands,” Roseman said<\/a>. “You don\u2019t have great success without taking great risks. \u2026 We can\u2019t be afraid to fail. I think a lot of times for you to get to the top you have to be willing to take chances that may look controversial at times. \u2026. I won\u2019t live with regret.\u201d<\/p>\n

Making a move for Garrett would have made Philadelphia a clear-cut Super Bowl favorite. While it didn’t come to fruition, the rumors were exciting and continue to show just how aggressive the Eagles are willing to be in pursuit of championships.<\/p>\n

Once again this season, Garrett has had a big-time year in Cleveland. He has played in eight games, racking up 31 total tackles to go along with 10 sacks and a forced fumble.<\/p>\n

At 29 years old, Garrett’s future will continue to be an intriguing storyline to watch. The Browns are clearly nowhere close to being a playoff contender. Perhaps the trade rumors will pick back up during the NFL offseason.<\/p>\n

As for Philadelphia, the team is in a great position heading into Week 10. The Eagles are without a doubt a contender and their trade deadline moves have strengthen their defense in a big way.<\/p>\n
