{"id":357358,"date":"2025-11-05T11:57:30","date_gmt":"2025-11-05T11:57:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/357358\/"},"modified":"2025-11-05T11:57:30","modified_gmt":"2025-11-05T11:57:30","slug":"golden-state-warriors-survive-devin-bookers-big-night-in-win-over-phoenix-suns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/357358\/","title":{"rendered":"Golden State Warriors Survive Devin Booker\u2019s Big Night in Win Over Phoenix Suns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_vy4m5fl4z\">Despite making a late push, the Phoenix Suns fell short to the Golden State Warriors in 118-107 fashion on Tuesday night. <\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_4b9aukydi\">Their two-game winning streak now comes to an end, dropping their record to 3-5 on the season. <\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_yb8rlnzj2\">Devin Booker reached a new season high in scoring with 38 points, marking the sixth time in Phoenix&#8217;s first eight games he&#8217;s reached over 30 points scored. <\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_7lqxx0kj9\">Jalen Green (hamstring) and Dillon Brooks (core) were out for Phoenix while Jimmy Butler (lower back) was a game-time decision for the Warriors before ultimately playing &#8211; <a class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_8td2uv\" href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nba\/suns\/onsi\/news\/jimmy-butler-wont-return-phoenix-suns-golden-state-warriors-injury\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">though he left early and did not return. <\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_a9egob5kp\">In spite of Butler&#8217;s absence, Golden State shot tremendously well &#8211; converting 50% of shots from the field and 45% from downtown.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_u8kfq11fm\">They led by as much as 25 on the night. <\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_yfzk0bhez\">Quick recap:<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_uhqa9mcet\">The Suns started out just 1-11 shooting from the field, and combined with Golden State&#8217;s 14-2 run after the first, Phoenix found themselves down early 17-13 entering the first timeout of the game. <\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_9r5jv2ix5\">Collin Gillespie and Oso Ighodaro were the first players off the bench for the Suns. Nigel Hayes-Davis also checked in for Phoenix in the first. <\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_pzacl03mb\">Golden State eventually hit another 11-2 run towards the end of the first to spring a timeout from Suns coach Jordan Ott.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_9iz1fwafp\">Phoenix trailed 33-19 as the second quarter began. Warriors big man Quinten Post led all scorers with nine points while the Suns shot just 1-7 from three-point land to start the game. <\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_67nuqsuzv\">Gillespie, the NBA&#8217;s top three-point shooting reserve player, scored a quick six points in ten seconds to trim Golden State&#8217;s advantage to ten, forcing Warriors coach Steve Kerr to stop action and collect his troops. <\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_28hv44fkx\">Yet true to Warriors fashion, Golden State quickly caught fire and emerged to a 45-27 lead with just over eight minutes left in the half. The Warriors were shooting a strong 50% from the field and 60% from deep to that point. <\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_78powlonj\">That prompted Ott to plug most of his starting lineup back into action with the exception of Gillespie on the floor. <\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_1xpujpdv9\">Golden State maintained a roughly 20-point advantage in the closing moments of the first half, ultimately entering the locker room up 68-49. <\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_036pi7wh2\">Booker&#8217;s 17 points was a team-high for Phoenix after two quarters.
