A huge change is coming to MSNBC <\/p>\n
Soon enough, the network will be now known as MS Now<\/a>. The major shift will kick off later this month. <\/p>\n Starting Nov. 15, the cable news network will be called \u201cMy Source for News, Opinion, and the World,\u201d or MS NOW for short. The plan also includes dropping NBC\u2019s iconic peacock logo and will put in its place a red, white and blue color scheme and branding. <\/p>\n Though this will be a new moniker and look, here\u2019s what\u2019s important to note: The hosts and journalists will be unchanged and will remain on the same channel, with the same programming schedule.<\/p>\n MSNBC also plans to retain its editorial direction, as well as their mission. <\/p>\n In an Oct. 27 announcement<\/a>, the network stated: \u201cThe same familiar and trusted hosts and journalists who make sense of what is happening in Washington, across the country, and around the world will still be here \u2014 on the same channel, at the same time.”<\/p>\n It continued: \u201cOur mission remains unchanged. You\u2019ll find the same commitment to justice, progress, and the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n The huge rebrand comes after an August announcement that MSNBC would become part of Versant, a newly formed company that is a spin-off of most of NBCUniversal\u2019s U.S. cable television networks. <\/p>\n MSNBC President Rebecca Kutler detailed in a memo at the time that this move called for the need for MSNBC\u2019s makeover. <\/p>\n \u201cDuring this time of transition, NBCUniversal decided that our brand requires a new, separate identity,\u201d Kutler wrote via the Associated Press<\/a>. \u201cThis decision now allows us to set our own course and assert our independence as we continue to build our own modern newsgathering operation.\u201d<\/p>\n If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
