Paul Martinka<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the latest on NYC Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani<\/p>\n<p>News of Tucker\u2019s resignation came just as the FDNY boss was set to fly to Israel later Wednesday to meet with a fire commissioner in the Jewish state.<\/p>\n<p>Tucker\u2019s reasons for tendering his resignation were not immediately clear. The Post has reached out to the commissioner for comment.<\/p>\n<p>The FDNY\u2019s 35th commissioner stepped in to lead the department in August 2024, replacing Laura Kavanagh, who had a tumultuous tenure at the helm.<\/p>\n<p>Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani was elected New York City\u2019s next mayor on Nov. 4, 2025. AP<\/p>\n<p>Adams lauded Tucker at the time of his appointment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCommissioner Tucker brings decades of experience in protecting public safety to this role, as well as strong personal ties to the FDNY,\u201d he said in a statement last year.<\/p>\n<p>Tucker, 55, founded T&amp;M in 1999. Before that, he worked as a special assistant for the Queens District Attorney\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>Robert Tucker, a Jewish philanthropist and businessman, will step down from the role.
