{"id":357975,"date":"2025-11-05T18:10:14","date_gmt":"2025-11-05T18:10:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/357975\/"},"modified":"2025-11-05T18:10:14","modified_gmt":"2025-11-05T18:10:14","slug":"pat-mcafee-big-cat-criticize-espn-as-disney-youtube-tv-war-wages-on","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/357975\/","title":{"rendered":"Pat McAfee, Big Cat criticize ESPN as Disney-YouTube TV war wages on"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sports fans can\u2019t watch certain games, and fingers are starting to be pointed.<\/p>\n<p>ESPN is coming under fire for its role in the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/10\/31\/sports\/espn-goes-dark-on-youtube-tv-in-carriage-dispute\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Disney-YouTube contract dispute<\/a>, with Barstool\u2019s Dan \u201cBig Cat\u201d Katz slamming the company for its part in the drama, while Pat McAfee has called out his employer over its messaging in the mess that is preventing sports fans from watching ESPN content on YouTube TV.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cESPN is f\u2013king everyone because ESPN\u2019s got a new app \u2026 and they also own Hulu and Fubo,\u201d Katz said Monday on \u201cPardon My Take.\u201d \u201cThey\u2019re screwing over everyone who has cut the cord and went to YouTube TV, and it\u2019s just f\u2013ked up. It\u2019s f\u2013ked up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re just screwing over the consumer, the people who just want to watch sports. I just want to watch sports. That\u2019s all I want to watch. The shows I watch are on Netflix or HBO. Let me just watch sports. I don\u2019t watch any other TV besides sports. Give me all the sports in one place and let me pay for that, and stop with this bulls\u2013t where everyone is trying to squeeze each other out for an extra dollar, screwing over the people who just want to watch sports.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.78610603;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"37580892\" width=\"977\" height=\"547\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Katz.png\" alt=\"Katz sitting at a desk with a microphone and laptop, next to a lottery machine.\" class=\"wp-image-37580892\"  \/>Dan \u201cBig Cat\u201d Katz on  Monday\u2019s \u201cPardon My Take.\u201d @PardonMyTakePodcast\/YouTube<\/p>\n<p>Sports fans like Katz are upset since the two streaming giants could not come to terms on an agreement, leading to ABC, FX, and ESPN, among others, being removed from YouTube TV.<\/p>\n<p>This meant YouTube TV customers could not watch the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/11\/04\/sports\/kyler-murray-question-hangs-over-cardinals-after-mnf-upset\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cardinals\u2019 27-17 win<\/a> over the Cowboys on \u201cMonday Night Football,\u201d among other events.<\/p>\n<p>Disney slammed YouTube TV in a statement, alleging that Google \u2014 which owns YouTube \u2014 won\u2019t pay \u201cfair rates\u201d for its channels.<\/p>\n<p>YouTube TV countered that Disney is trying to raise prices on its content, and used the threatened and then-executed blackout as a bargaining tactic.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The sides remained \u201cfar apart on price,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2025\/11\/03\/sources-no-short-term-deal-coming-between-espn-youtube-ahead-of-mnf\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sports Business Journal reported Monday<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Before the blackout, several prominent ESPN personalities \u2014 Mike Greenberg, Stephen A. Nobody cares what you have to say. There will be nothing that we say or any website that will be visited, that will get this thing  \u2014 there are, I don\u2019t want to say the exact names, but these people (with hands held high), let\u2019s put our swords down. Let\u2019s put our swords down for the good of sports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need each other. Need each other. A lot of people saying \u2018greedy corporate,\u2019 it\u2019s like, yeah. We need each other, especially with where sports are right now. And we\u2019re in the middle of it, so let\u2019s get that done. Let\u2019s get that done. And stop asking me to go to a website. I don\u2019t want to do that, so stop \u2026 All you\u2019re doing is pissing everybody off even more.
