Dallas diners should expect to see more restaurants putting up \u201cclosed\u201d signs<\/a> as we head toward the end of 2025. <\/p>\n

The Texas Restaurant Association said restaurants in the state are facing an \u201cindustry slowdown\u201d \u2014 a scary phrase for the chefs and owners trying to keep their restaurants afloat amid slumping consumer spending and increased prices for food. The whopping 48 recent restaurant closures in Dallas-Fort Worth include plenty of standalone restaurants, plus 18 Salad and Go drive-throughs<\/a> and seven Starbucks stores<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cOur small business is dying,\u201d wrote the owners of Cold Press Cafe on social media. They used a Halloween theme to announce the end of the family-run business on a tombstone<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Some restaurateurs in Dallas-Fort Worth are still reeling after a slow summer that didn\u2019t crescendo with a usual uptick in business in the fall.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were waiting for the summer to end and it didn\u2019t,\u201d Madison King told The Dallas Morning News\u2019 Claire Ballor as King closed her Casa Linda restaurant, Be Home Soon<\/a>. As deflated sales continued until October, she said, \u201cI don\u2019t know how people are supposed to survive that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Consumers are feeling the pinch, too. Maybe this will help: Here\u2019s a list of 20 affordable restaurants in Dallas-Fort Worth.<\/a><\/p>\n

Below is a look at recently closed restaurants in Dallas-Fort Worth in fall 2025.<\/p>\n

Ari\u2019s Pantry in downtown Dallas\"Ari<\/p>\n

Downtown Dallas building the Mercantile on Main experienced widespread flooding recently<\/a>, displacing hundreds of apartment dwellers and forcing Ari\u2019s Pantry on the ground floor to close for now. Ari\u2019s Pantry is a grocer that sells produce, cheese, sandwiches and espresso<\/a>. It isn\u2019t clear what will happen next with Ari\u2019s Pantry in downtown Dallas, though owner Ari Lowenstein continues to operate two other shops by the same name<\/a> in Oak Cliff and Trinity Groves. The website says an Ari\u2019s in Coppell is coming soon.<\/p>\n

Be Home Soon in East Dallas\"Be<\/p>\n

Be Home Soon changed its menu regularly. Here’s the garlic lemongrass chicken quarter.<\/p>\n

After a year of selling comfort food in East Dallas, Be Home Soon closed in late October 2025<\/a>, Ballor reported. Alcohol sales are down, food costs are up and customers are struggling to find funds to eat in restaurants with regularity, King said. <\/p>\n

\u201cEvery single person doing what we do has said this is the worst year they\u2019ve ever had,\u201d she told Ballor. \u201cPeople can\u2019t afford to go out to eat.\u201d<\/p>\n

Be Home Soon was at 9540 Garland Road, Dallas. <\/p>\n

Bottled Blonde near Deep Ellum<\/p>\n

Dallas bar and nightclub Bottled Blonde closed in spring 2025 \u2014 a surprise, since it was once the highest-grossing standalone bar in Texas. It\u2019s run by Arizona parent company Evening Entertainment Group, the same team that runs Jelly Roll\u2019s club Goodnight Nashville in Tennessee. The team announced Bottled Blonde would not reopen<\/a> and shifted the Dallas bar into a \u201chigh-energy honky tonk\u201d now called Palomino Ranch.<\/p>\n

Bottled Blonde was at 505 N Good Latimer Expressway, Dallas. It\u2019s been replaced by Palomino Ranch, which opened Oct. 9, 2025.<\/p>\n

Cold Press Cafe in Colleyville<\/p>\n

Colleyville juice bar Cold Press Cafe plans to close around Nov. 15, 2025, according to Facebook<\/a>. The shop could close sooner if product runs out<\/a>, notes Community Impact. Items are discounted.<\/p>\n

Cold Press Cafe is at 1101 Cheek Sparger Road, Colleyville. Closing date is Nov. 15, 2025 or sooner.<\/p>\n

Elaine\u2019s Kitchen & Bar in South Dallas\"Cedrice<\/p>\n

Jamaican restaurant Elaine\u2019s, which sold curried goat soup and Rasta Pasta for decades, closed in mid-October 2025<\/a>, Ballor reported. Its matriarch Elaine Campbell died in 2023, and her nephew Matthew Graham kept the restaurant open in her honor. Now it\u2019s time to close \u2014 which Campbell would have wanted, her nephew said. The restaurant served as \u201ca steady, nurturing presence in a pocket of Dallas that\u2019s long been at the center of conversations about economic revitalization and food access,\u201d Ballor wrote.<\/p>\n

Elaine\u2019s Kitchen was at 2717 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Dallas.<\/p>\n

Corn soup was on the menu at Ella, an American bistro in Dallas that closed in October 2025.<\/p>\n

Reconcepted restaurant Ella in Dallas\u2019 Preston Hollow Village closed unexpectedly<\/a>, according to D. The restaurant started as Chido Taco Lounge and became a more upscale Ella in 2025<\/a>. It was open for fewer than four months. <\/p>\n

Also closed: Ella\u2019s upstairs tequila lounge, Customs.<\/p>\n

Ella and Customs were at at 7949 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas.<\/p>\n

Ferris Wheelers Backyard and BBQ in the Dallas Design District\"Entering<\/p>\n

Barbecue backyard Ferris Wheelers was ahead of its time, serving drinks and food in the Dallas Design District in 2017<\/a> before it boomed as a dining destination<\/a>. The restaurant is closed as of early November 2025, but the backyard bar will reopen open for a few more days. Then, it will be used for concerts and special events only. Annette Marin and Matthew Harber, of the D-FW-based event company Spune Productions, are taking over the space.<\/p>\n

The campy barbecue restaurant lived up to its name, as it had an actual Ferris wheel in the backyard.<\/p>\n

Kona Grill in Plano<\/p>\n

Sushi chain Kona Grill closed<\/a> in Plano in June 2025, according to CI. The restaurant was known for it happy hour, which included appetizers for as low as $3.<\/p>\n

Kona Grill was at 5973 W. Parker Road, Plano.<\/p>\n

Maple Street Biscuit Co. in Dallas, Frisco, Keller, McKinney and Wylie<\/p>\n

All but one location of Maple Street Biscuit Co. in Dallas-Fort Worth have closed. The breakfast brand has been owned by Cracker Barrel since 2019<\/a>, according to Fast Company, and following the \u201cbotched logo redesign\u201d heard \u2018round the world<\/a>, the company announced it would close 14 Maple Street Biscuit restaurants. <\/p>\n

Seven of those were in Texas, with six in Dallas-Fort Worth. One Maple Street Biscuit remains open in North Texas, in Mansfield.<\/p>\n

Maple Street Biscuit Co. restaurants closed in Dallas, Frisco, Keller, Wylie and McKinney. Still open: a shop at 1660 E. Broad St. Mansfield.<\/p>\n

Meyboom Brasserie on Dallas\u2019 Lowest Greenville\"Owner<\/p>\n

Belgian beer bar Meyboom Brasserie<\/a> closed in late August 2025. The corner space was right in the middle of the action on Dallas\u2019 Greenville Avenue, but the bar owners struggled to find a foothold on the block. Meyboom had a good beer list and was noted as one of Dallas\u2019 100 best bars<\/a> from the Dallas Observer.<\/p>\n

Nikki Greek Bistro and Lounge near Dallas\u2019 Devonshire\"Although<\/p>\n

Although the sit-down Greek restaurant in its place is gone, replacement bar The Devonshire Club will still have some Greek dishes, the owners said. Here’s the whipped feta at coming-soon Devonshire Club in Dallas.<\/p>\n

Gone is the upscale Greek restaurant on W. Lovers Lane, near the Dallas North Tollway. Owners Lisa and Elia \u201cTom\u201d Georgalis are making a left turn, converting the space to a more casual bar and lounge called The Devonshire Club. The Georgalises said customers want a place to drink, snack<\/a> and play shuffleboard or darts. <\/p>\n

The Devonshire Club is located at 5757 W. Lovers Lane, Suite 101, Dallas. It opens Nov. 14, 2025, and will be open Tuesday through Sunday.<\/p>\n

Origin Kitchen + Bar in Uptown Dallas<\/p>\n

Healthful restaurant Origin closed Oct. 26, 2025, after 13 years in Uptown Dallas. The restaurant was created for people who cared about where their food came from: \u201cfood that was sourced well, prepared with care and made people feel good long before \u2018seed oil free\u2019 was cool,\u201d the owners wrote in a goodbye note on social media<\/a>. Owners Jess and Russell Aldredge chose not to renew the lease, saying their focus is on other businesses and their kids.<\/p>\n

Origin Kitchen + Bar was at 4438 McKinney Ave., Dallas.<\/p>\n

Rodeo Dallas in Deep Ellum\"Rodeo<\/p>\n

Rodeo Dallas is a nightclub in Deep Ellum that opened in 2023.<\/p>\n

For several weeks, News columnist Robert Wilonsky chronicled Rodeo Dallas\u2019 \u201catmosphere of chaos,\u201d<\/a> as described by landlord Asana\u2019s co-counsel Ben Riemer. A nearby property owner sued the Elm Street bar, arguing it was a dangerous place with \u201cegregious\u201d activities that included \u201cunfettered violence, drug use, displays of firearms, underage drinking\u201d and more. <\/p>\n

The venue has been closed under a Dallas County District Court judge\u2019s order since August 2025. In early October 2025, a state appeals court denied Rodeo Dallas\u2019 emergency request to reopen<\/a>, and the bar is still appealing the closure, court records show.<\/p>\n

Rodeo Dallas is at 2724 Elm St., Dallas. Closed for now.<\/p>\n

Salad and Go: 18 locations in Dallas-Fort Worth<\/p>\n

Salad and Go, which is based in Coppell, announced in September 2025 that it would close 41 of its drive-throughs<\/a>. That number includes all restaurants in Houston, Austin and San Antonio, plus 18 in Dallas-Fort Worth. \u201cWe continue to believe in the Texas market and its long-term potential,\u201d CEO Mike Tattersfield said. Closing dozens of restaurants will \u201cstrengthen\u201d the others, he said.<\/p>\n

Longtime East Dallas sweets shop Society Bakery closed<\/a> in October 2025, as reported by CultureMap. The Skillman Street space is already cleared out, with \u201cfor lease\u201d signs<\/a> on the windows, The Advocate noted. The bakery got its start on Greenville Avenue. Co-owner Roshi Muns moved Society in 2024, adding a tea room. It isn\u2019t clear why Society Bakery and its Tea Room closed.<\/p>\n

Spurlock\u2019s Malt Shop in Anna\"Spurlock's<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not goodbye, it\u2019s see you later,\u201d wrote the family behind Spurlock\u2019s Malt Shop in Anna. The burger-and-a-milkshake shop owners told CultureMap they were forced to close<\/a> because the landlord sold the building. The retro restaurant had been open since the 1950s<\/a>. Its last day was Nov. 1, 2025. <\/p>\n

In a series of heartfelt Facebook posts<\/a>, the owners wrote that they \u201cloved every minute of serving this community \u2014 laughing with y\u2019all and watching families (including ours) grow inside these pink walls.” <\/p>\n

Spurlock\u2019s Malt Shop was at 504 N. Powell Parkway, Anna. More to come if the shop relocates.<\/p>\n

Starbucks: 7 locations in Dallas-Fort Worth<\/p>\n

Coffee giant Starbucks is closing hundreds of stores by the end of 2025<\/a>. At least seven of those are in Dallas-Fort Worth \u2014 and let us know if you hear of others. So far, these Starbucks stores closed in fall 2025 in North Texas:<\/p>\n
