Most famously, Wareheim is one half of the cult-favorite <strong>comedy sketch duo, Tim &amp; Eric,<\/strong> alongside Tim Heidecker. Outside of comedy, television, and showbiz at large, <strong>Wareheim is also a devout foodie<\/strong>. Recently, Wareheim teamed up with renowned food writer, Gabe Ulla, to pen a love letter to the <a href=\"https:\/\/secrethouston.com\/best-steakhouses-in-houston\/\" rel=\"follow noopener\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secrethouston.com\/best-steakhouses-in-houston\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_0\" data-category=\"click_internal\">American Steakhouse <\/a>in their recent book: <strong>Steak House: The People, the Places, the Recipes. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the book, Wareheim takes readers on a <strong>coast-to-coast tour of steakhouses across America<\/strong>. Profiling <strong>nearly 40 steakhouses<\/strong>, Wareheim celebrates the style, personality, and flavor of the restaurants, as well as <strong>providing 45 recipes<\/strong> for classic steakhouse fare.<\/p>\n<p>The two authors recently made an appearance on the podcast of celebrity chef, <strong>David Chang <\/strong>(of Netflix\u2019s Ugly Delicious fame) to discuss their book. During \u201cSteak With Eric Wareheim and Gabe Ulla\u201d on The Dave Change Show, released October 27, Chang asked them what their favorite steakhouse was. After politely extricating why his choice wasn\u2019t Chang\u2019s own steak house, Major Domo, Wareheim told the host his favorite was<strong> Pappas Bros. in Houston<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p> <img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-29606\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/FotoJet-2025-11-05T151957.745-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Image shows a steak and sides from Pappas Bros. Steakhouse in Houston.\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\"  \/>Photo credit: @pappasbrossteakhouse <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHouston: Pappas [Bros.]\u201d, Wareheim replied. \u201c<strong>It\u2019s insane<\/strong>\u201c.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s the platonic idea: no bullshit on the menu. <strong>You get what you get and it\u2019s perfectly done<\/strong>,\u201d Ulla said.<\/p>\n<p>Wareheim continued to describe the vibe of the restaurant, providing context to his <strong>\u201cfull package\u201d response<\/strong> to the best steak house question, noting the restaurant\u2019s <strong>dash of Southern Charm and heavenly interior.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As far as David Chang\u2019s retort, Chang expressed<strong> outrage at never having heard of the steakhouse<\/strong> \u2013 <strong>calling out Houston\u2019s own Chris Shepherd<\/strong> \u2013 who took introduced Wareheim and Ulla to the restaurant \u2013 for leaving him out in the blue. To use Chang\u2019s words:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been to Houston many times. Chris Shepherd, what the f**k? In previous episodes of Ugly Delicious, David Chang has heaped plenty of praise on Houston\u2019s food scene, calling it \u201cAmerica\u2019s next great food city\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Steak House: The People, thePlaces, the Recipes is now available for purchase.
