As part of Sony\u2019s licensing deal with Netflix, \u201cKPop Demon Hunters\u201d landed directly on Netflix and became the streamer\u2019s most popular movie of all time. Meanwhile, three of its original songs \u2014 \u201cGolden,\u201d \u201cYour Idol\u201d and \u201cSoda Pop\u201d \u2014 have been mainstays on Billboard\u2019s Hot 100 chart and could land nominations at the upcoming Grammy Awards.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cKPop Demon Hunters\u201d has been such a phenomenon that the theatrical-averse Netflix decided to bring a sing-along version of the film to theaters for fan events in August and October. During the first go-around, \u201cKPop Demon Hunters\u201d topped the box office with roughly $18 million over two days. Then around Halloween, the movie collected $5 million to $6 million, which is noteworthy considering it\u2019s been widely available on streaming for months. <\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cKPop Demon Hunters co-director Maggie Kang, who helmed the film with Chris Appelhans, has long expressed her desire for a sequel.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cWe\u2019ve set up so much for potential backstory,\u201d Kang told Variety in July<\/a>. \u201cObviously, there\u2019s a lot of questions that are left unanswered and areas that are not explored.
