{"id":35837,"date":"2025-07-03T17:17:22","date_gmt":"2025-07-03T17:17:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/35837\/"},"modified":"2025-07-03T17:17:22","modified_gmt":"2025-07-03T17:17:22","slug":"severe-thunderstorm-warning-likely-for-pm-nbc-new-york","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/35837\/","title":{"rendered":"Severe thunderstorm warning likely for PM \u2013 NBC New York"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Potentially severe thunderstorms are expected to lash the New York City metro area later Thursday, bringing the threat of damaging straight-line wind and hail as we kick off one of the busiest travel weekends of the year.<\/p>\n<p>The National Weather Service&#8217;s Storm Prediction Center elevated the severe risk level to a 2 on a scale of 5, meaning the shaded region is in the &#8220;more likely&#8221; zone for severe weather.<\/p>\n<p>The good news: The storms should come mainly in a line form, so they&#8217;ll move in and out quickly. <\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/image_e64c1d.png\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>The bad news: The likeliest window for the severe threat is prime travel time, from about 4 p.m. through 9 p.m., though some spots may see isolated storms earlier or later. <\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/image_01855d.png\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/image_e9fb31.png\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>Perfect July Fourth weather ahead<\/p>\n<p>Once the storms exit the region Thursday evening, we\u2019ll get an influx of dry air pouring into the tri-state as a northwest wind picks up. Not only will this make for a refreshing breeze heading into Friday, but it will send humidity way down, giving way to a dry, comfortable, and sunny Fourth of July.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, July Fourth is going to be our nicest day weather-wise this entire week. High temperatures will be just about average for this time of year with very low humidity. <\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/image_23c529.png\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>It will be perfect for any outdoor plans you may have from start to finish. And that includes any fireworks shows in the evening. Skies will be clear, winds will be light, and temperatures will be in the upper 70s. You won\u2019t even need a sweatshirt, just a blanket or lawn chair to sit on as you watch the show.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/image_97e763.png\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>And as if near-perfect weather for the holiday itself wasn\u2019t enough, the weather stays dry all weekend.\u00a0We hold onto the low humidity on Saturday with just a few more clouds as winds shift south. But it will get progressively hotter through the weekend. Highs will push into the 90s in some areas on Saturday, with mid-90s by Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Humidity will also be on the rise by Sunday, so the beach might be a perfect place to beat the heat.
