{"id":35849,"date":"2025-07-03T17:23:09","date_gmt":"2025-07-03T17:23:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/35849\/"},"modified":"2025-07-03T17:23:09","modified_gmt":"2025-07-03T17:23:09","slug":"steve-williams-names-the-golf-course-tiger-woods-would-pick-if-he-had-to-win-a-tournament-to-save-his-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/35849\/","title":{"rendered":"Steve Williams names the golf course Tiger Woods would pick if he had to win a tournament to save his life"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>There aren\u2019t many people who know Tiger Woods better than Steve Williams.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegolfinggazette.com\/tag\/steve-williams\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Williams<\/a> was right by the side of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegolfinggazette.com\/tag\/tiger-woods\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Woods<\/a> for 13 of his 15 major championships, and the vast majority of his 82 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegolfinggazette.com\/tag\/pga-tour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PGA Tour<\/a> wins.<\/p>\n<p>The man from New Zealand caddied for the 49-year-old from 1999 through to 2011 before their acrimonious split 14 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegolfinggazette.com\/news\/steve-williams-responds-when-asked-if-hed-become-tiger-woods-caddie-again-if-he-was-asked-now\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Williams recently admitted that he would caddie for Woods again<\/a> if given the chance.<\/p>\n<p>That is in spite of the fact that the 15-time major champion fired the 61-year-old after he caddied for Adam Scott as a favour in 2011.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"668\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/GettyImages-1245740412-1024x668.jpg\" alt=\"Tiger Woods during the final round of the 2022 PNC Championship\" class=\"wp-image-77726\" \/>Photo by Paul Hennessy\/SOPA Images\/LightRocket via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>He then took the Australian\u2019s bag on a full-time basis soon after.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegolfinggazette.com\/features\/why-steve-williams-had-to-issue-public-apology-after-adam-scott-won-a-pga-tour-event-back-in-2011\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Williams was then forced to apologise to Scott<\/a> after the 2013 Masters champions won the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, and the New Zealander told reporters it was the best win of his life.<\/p>\n<p>He was accused of stealing the limelight from Scott, something that he vehemently denied.<\/p>\n<p>Despite all of that, Williams made his name, and the bulk of his fortune, through caddying for Woods, there is no denying that.<\/p>\n<p>Steve Williams names the golf course Tiger Woods loves the most<\/p>\n<p>Williams witnessed the vast majority of Woods\u2019 best moments on the golf course throughout his career.<\/p>\n<p>The 49-year-old has some unbelievable records at certain golf courses.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/GettyImages-1498736202-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Steve Williams caddying for Adam Scott during the during the 123rd U.S. Open at The Los Angeles Country Club during round one\" class=\"wp-image-63176\" \/>Photo by Richard Heathcote\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>He won the Arnold Palmer Invitational eight times, and recorded the same amount of victories at the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club.<\/p>\n<p>However, it\u2019s another golf course that is his personal favourite, according to Williams. Oh, and he\u2019s won eight times around there as well by the way!<\/p>\n<p>When speaking on GOLF\u2019s Subpar Podcast, Williams responded when asked what golf course Tiger would pick to play if he had to win a tournament to save his life.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cTorrey Pines. Obviously at Firestone he had a remarkable record but he just loved Torrey Pines. He had a bit of a fascination with that course because the first time he went to watch a golf tournament was at Torrey Pines, the Junior World was held there a number of times. And he just loved that course.
