Whether you fancy yourself an expert host or a novice party planner, you can glean a few ideas from these designers who created four festive-yet-distinct designs. Each look reflects a unique perspective rooted in the designer\u2019s personal aesthetic \u2014 and all you have to do to get your holiday table sorted is click \u201cadd to cart.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thanksgiving on the farm by John Phifer Marrs<\/b><\/p>\n

Inspired by the idyllic setting at his Texas farm, designer John Phifer Marrs <\/a>created this cozy table with hints of gingham, turkey motifs and John Derian pieces from his personal collection. \u201cLayered over a rustic farm table, curated pieces create a warm, seasonal foundation for holiday gatherings with family and friends,\u201d says Marrs. Paying homage to Marrs\u2019 book Interiors for Collectors, find a charming turkey collection that brings humor and character to the table, as well. \u201cEach element feels intentional and meaningful, coming together in an inviting setting that captures the beauty of fall and the joyful spirit of the season,\u201d he says. <\/p>\n

Marrs sets the fall tone with the hazelnut ruffled gingham tablecloth from Haven Haus Co<\/a>. and a feathered placemat<\/a> from Karen Kane. \u201cPerfect can be boring,\u201d he says. \u201cThrow in one odd, interesting piece. This placemat, a nod to turkey feathers, brings a touch of texture and color that enlivens the setting.\u201d He paired Foliage Jacquard napkins<\/a> in warm oranges and browns from Williams Sonoma with a gold napkin ring<\/a> from Pottery Barn to complete the look. \u201cEven the smallest details matter,\u201d he says. \u201cSubtle fall touches, like leaf-shaped napkin rings, tie the tablescape together and reinforce the seasonal theme.\u201d <\/p>\n

Marrs layered a simple brass charger<\/a> with Plymouth classic turkey dinner and salad plates<\/a>, both from Williams Sonoma, \u201cfor depth and a touch of drama,\u201d he explains. Colored wine<\/a> and water<\/a> glasses in warm tones from Target compliment the table\u2019s fall palette, and the Perrie bamboo flatware<\/a> from Ballard Designs is a beautiful basic that can be used year-round. <\/p>\n

As for the centerpiece, Marrs recommends incorporating accents that feel thoughtfully curated, not cluttered. You can add mini gourds, fall-colored foliage or a favorite holiday-themed collection. He added John Derian\u2019s asparagus candles<\/a> to his setting as a conversation starter. \u201cEvery room \u2014 and every tablescape \u2014 needs a bit of whimsy,\u201d he says. \u201cUnexpected details delight the eye and spark conversation … [The candles] bring a touch of humor, and color to the table.\u201d Place them in these brass taper holders<\/a> from Terrain, then add gold turkey place card holders <\/a>from Pottery Barn for the finishing touch. \u201cAccessories are the room\u2019s jewelry,\u201d he says. <\/p>\n

Courtney Warren\u2019s nostalgic Christmas table <\/b><\/p>\n

For those who love traditional holiday motifs, designer Courtney Warren\u2019s<\/a> table nods to vintage designs with snowy scenes, holiday toile and traditional Spode china. Her items evoke a sense of warmth and sentiment with a hint of cheer. \u201cThis is a more traditional place setting, but by pairing it with classic pieces, it looks much fresher than Grandma\u2019s china,\u201d she explains.<\/p>\n

For instance, she chose three plates that can be mixed and matched, including the Bico Toile de Joiy Winter Wonderland scalloped plates<\/a>, the Spode Christmas Tree tartan plate<\/a> and these vintage plates<\/a> from Etsy. \u201cThe plaid Spode salad plate and red-and-cream napkins nod to the emerging Ralph Lauren Christmas trend,\u201d she says. (If you\u2019ve poked around Pinterest or TikTok, you\u2019re bound to see this popular trend inspired by the American fashion designer and his stores and restaurants.)<\/p>\n

As for linens, Warren picked the Solino Home napkins<\/a>, a Saro Lifestyle gold napkin ring<\/a> and a natural evergreen placemat<\/a>. \u201cThey provide a texture that most tables are missing, and they are a bit unexpected,\u201d she says. It all blends with the green velvet tablecloth<\/a> \u2014 another spot to play with texture.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf trends aren\u2019t your thing, vintage never misses,\u201d she says. \u201cUsing the same base plates, you can also layer a nostalgic Santa salad plate<\/a> on top and tie it all together with a simple red velvet ribbon bow<\/a>. It\u2019s a look that\u2019s timeless, cheerful and easy to pull off.\u201d <\/p>\n

A table set with heirlooms and modern accents by Yates Desygn <\/b><\/p>\n

Brian Yates and Mike Yates of Yates Desygn<\/a> balanced both tradition and modern moments in their holiday tablescape. The design mixes \u201ceveryday pieces that live effortlessly in a home mixed with those rare, meaningful objects you bring out for special moments,\u201d says Mike Yates. \u201cIt\u2019s a way of honoring where we come from while reimagining how we gather today.\u201d<\/p>\n

For instance, they chose the Giobagnara leather large oval placemats<\/a> as a versatile-yet-elevated piece that can be utilized year-round. \u201cThey are hard wearing and can transition from casual pizza night to a five-course dinner party,\u201d he explains. The placemats coordinate with Borgo delle Tovaglie Filo linen napkins<\/a> and the Match pewter napkin rings<\/a>. A hint of tartan for the holidays shows up on a Trichi Design tablecloth<\/a>. <\/p>\n

To set the tone, the designers selected custom menus<\/a> from Dogwood Hill and drip candle holders<\/a> from Polspotten. \u201cNothing evokes mood quicker than Christmas dinner under candlelight,\u201d Yates says. Brandimarte hammered sterling coasters<\/a>; green Sabre cutlery<\/a> and the Match pewter casserole dish<\/a> from KD Biel all add to the beautiful silver and green tones. \u201cSilver is back, and you\u2019ll see it in abundance this season from the jewelry on your guests to the rings on the napkins,\u201d he says. \u201cWe love an heirloom piece like the Greggio 3-tier stand<\/a> stylistically displaying your family\u2019s recipes for years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n

For plates, the rich burgundy of the Fiore dinner plate<\/a> by Cabana perfectly complements the berry hues in the Richard Ginori Malachite dessert plate<\/a>, which is available locally at Blue Print. \u201cYou can almost smell the olive trees of Italy when you look at the Ginori plate,\u201d says Yates. \u201cBlue Print has the perfect pieces for your tablescape dreams.\u201d Alexander Kirkeby wine glasses<\/a> from The Conservatory and the Essential glassware from Hawkins New York<\/a> round out the table\u2019s glassware. <\/p>\n

A table isn\u2019t complete without a centerpiece. They love these Waterford crystal trees<\/a> paired with a floral arrangement. \u201dFlorals are like living sculptures that bring movement and texture to the table,\u201d Yates says. \u201cI love the interplay between something organic, and something highly designed like a wild branch next to cut crystal. Don\u2019t aim for perfection. Irregularity gives us soul.\u201d <\/p>\n

SWOON, The Studio\u2019s champagne and caviar tablescape<\/b><\/p>\n

Christine Visneau, chief curation officer with SWOON, The Studio<\/a>, designed a festive table ready to welcome guests for a chic holiday soiree. On the menu: champagne and caviar. \u201cThis edit evokes the spirit of a holiday evening: luminous, tactile and quietly indulgent,\u201d says Visneau. \u201cEach piece was selected to elevate the moment with subtle sophistication, creating a setting that feels both effortless and celebratory.\u201d <\/p>\n

For linens, Visneau selected the Faro dinner napkins<\/a>, for their tactile luxury. \u201cIt\u2019s the kind of detail that makes a table feel considered,\u201d she says. The neutral palette serves as the table\u2019s foundation, which allows the other pieces to shine, such as the Moi glass cups<\/a>, the Rita glass bowl<\/a> and the Cerro vase.<\/a> <\/p>\n

Setting the table with a beautiful plate is always at the center of a gorgeous tablescape, and Visneau chose the small petal plate in both almond<\/a> and opal hues<\/a>. \u201cTogether they strike a quiet balance \u2014 subtle yet sophisticated \u2014 grounding the palette in warmth and contrast,\u201d she says. For a moment of whimsy, the snail-handled glass bowl<\/a> serves as a conversation piece and a perfect vessel for potato chips, which is always a popular pairing with caviar. <\/p>\n

Candlelight is the upmost importance to cast the perfect glow, and Visneau suggests the glass candle ring with the single taper candle<\/a> in ivory from Creative Candles. \u201cThese minimal glass rings<\/a> add structure without distraction,\u201d she says. \u201cWe chose this taper for its slow, even, smokeless burn and minimal ivory hue. It anchors the table\u2019s ambient glow and complements the glass, shell and textile elements while enhancing the elegant warmth of the setting.\u201d <\/p>\n

With caviar on the menu, caviar spoons<\/a> are a must. \u201cThese shell spoons are all about the small luxuries,\u201d she says. \u201cTheir iridescent texture quietly echoes the opal plates and glass bowls, creating continuity across the setting while adding an indulgent touch.\u201d <\/p>\n
