Her draft profile was viral weeks before the WNBA began, with people immediately drawing comparisons to Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark.

And while Bueckers has certainly established herself as a part of the WNBA, there’s no way one can forget their beloved alma mater.

Paige Bueckers Responds to Alma Mater’s Hilarious Troll Tweet

Since Bueckers is prepping for her sophomore WNBA season, she hasn’t stopped supporting the UConn Huskies. The 24-year-old was at their season opener against Louisville, wearing a team sweatshirt and cheering from the stands.

In fact, Bueckers couldn’t help but want and be a part of the team. She posted a meme showcasing the same, adding the words ‘me rn’ on Instagram. The Wings star even commented on an IG post, asking them if it’s too late for her to play in her sixth year with them.

And while fans were eager to hype their beloved UConn Huskie star, the team was quick to troll Bueckers.

“Like how did you get our warmup top, you don’t even go here,” the team’s official Twitter (now X) account wrote.

Bueckers, naturally, had the perfect six-word response. Reiterating the fact that she wants to make a comeback, she wrote: “Run it back, year 6!”

The Huskies could only celebrate her time with the team as they added: “Husky forever 💙💙.”

Fans were thoroughly entertained by the exchange, some pointing out that maybe Bueckers could have played for another year. Furthermore, Bueckers’ girlfriend, Azzi Fudd, is still a part of the team.

Of course, Bueckers has found her footing in the WNBA, averaging 19.2 points, 5.4 assists, and 1.6 steals in her rookie season. She also became the first ever WNBA player in history to reach 200 points, 50 rebounds, and 50 assists in a season.

Bueckers Had the Best Advice for Girlfriend Azzi Fudd

With Bueckers gone, all eyes are on Fudd and the rest of the UConn team — especially after their NCAA championship win in 2025.

Discussing the situation with ESPN, Bueckers said, “Just focus on what matters. But if you focus on where you are at the moment, all of that is just noise.”

And with a 79-66 win over Louisville, the Huskies are at least off to a good start this season.

Before her debut with the Dallas Wings, Paige Bueckers was one of the most successful student-athletes in UConn…

[49
62,67,132,68,232
0":"post-358552","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-wnba","8":"tag-sports","9":"tag-united-states","10":"tag-unitedstates","11":"tag-us","12":"tag-wnba
["GET
