The 3×3 women’s league is all set to kick off on January 5 and will expand this season with two new franchises, Breeze BC and Hive BC, taking the total to eight. And as the league prepares for its second season and an internal draft, Caitlin Clark’s teammate and the Indiana Fever star, Aliyah Boston, just revealed which two WNBA players she’d love to team up with.

Watch What’s Trending Now!

On the Post Moves with Candace Parker & Aliyah Boston, Parker asked Boston, “If you were to pick two non-Fever players to play with, who are you picking?” While the Fever forward was a little hesitant to answer the question, maybe because she doesn’t want to imagine playing beside anyone outside Indiana, she said, “Maybe I’d play with Ka (Kahleah Copper). I think that’d be pretty fun. I mean, I can’t play with the fever player. Well, then I definitely go with my girl Dearica (Dearica Hamby) again.”

But if only every player could choose their own teammates. With the internal draft in December, the league will follow a structured format to ensure balance across all eight clubs. Every player entering the pool will be grouped into six pods based on position, giving each team a fair shot at building a competitive lineup.

Last season’s playoff squads — Lunar Owls, Rose, Laces, and Vinyl- will have the advantage of protecting two returning players, while Mist and Phantom, who missed the playoffs, can hold on to just one. But this doesn’t come without strings attached, as each protected player costs a first-round pick in the upcoming draft.

Imago

Via Indiana Fever

For newcomers Breeze BC and Hive BC, the stakes are even higher. The expansion clubs earned the top two selections, with Breeze BC winning the coin toss to claim the first overall pick. From there, the rest of the draft will roll out in a modified snake format, allowing coaches to select one player from each pod until every roster is filled with six players.

This is as exciting as any draft could get, and fans can’t wait to watch their favorite players back in action. But one question lingers in everyone’s mind: why isn’t Caitlin Clark playing?

Read Top Stories First From EssentiallySports

Click here and check box next to EssentiallySports

Where’s Caitlin Clark?

While Unrivaled has quickly become a go-to offseason platform for WNBA players, offering competitive 3-on-3 action and better domestic opportunities, the league still hasn’t been able to secure the biggest name in the world of women’s basketball. Despite co-founders Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart making a strong push to sign her, even offering her 7 figures as per reports, Caitlin Clark has opted out of the 2026 season.

But the reason is understandable. Clark suffered from a devastating injury in the 2025 WNBA season, which, as a result, limited the star to just 13 games. And with the season now over, the Fever star plans to take this time to recover and come back better than ever. But that’s not it!

Clark is also aiming for the USA Basketball women’s national team in the 2026 FIBA World Cup. During her conversation with the media in October, Clark opened up about her priorities and said, “There is some USA Basketball stuff that is probably my top priority right now that I need to prepare for, and I think that will help me prepare for next season, too.”

While fans won’t get to see Caitlin Clark in Unrivaled this time, they can look forward to watching her shine on the FIBA World Cup stage.

The second season of Unrivaled is just around the corner!
