A glamorous penthouse triplex where The Weeknd\u00a0once lived<\/a> with his then-girlfriend Bella Hadid\u00a0is now on the market for $35 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Canadian-born Grammy-winning star\u00a0Abel Tesfaye moved into the penthouse at 443 Greenwich St. in 2018 when it was asking\u00a0$60,000 a month. He\u00a0extended his lease\u00a0<\/a>during the pandemic, Gimme Shelter reported, when he was no longer dating Hadid.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The penthouse also comes with a coveted parking spot. There are just 12 of those in the building and they are rarely for sale. But when they are on the market, they sell for around $1.5 million apiece.<\/p>\n

The apartment, known as penthouse D, is in a former 19th-century book-binding factory on a charming, cobblestoned Tribeca street. The conversion is by the architecture firm CetraRuddy.<\/p>\n

443 Greenwich quickly became popular among A-listers, not just for its trendy location, but also for its privacy features. Past and present residents include Justin Timberlake<\/a>, Jessica Biel, Meg Ryan, Rebel Wilson, Harry Styles, Formula One champ Lewis Hamilton and Jennifer Lawrence.<\/p>\n

This penthouse is around 5,000 square feet inside and comes with an additional 1,000 square feet of outdoor space. Inside, it features four bedrooms and 4.5 baths.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The smart-wired home opens from a key-locked elevator to a marble foyer that leads to a great room with exposed reclaimed double height ceilings, seven large windows and a marble gas fireplace.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Design details include a Christopher Peacock chef\u2019s kitchen and a windowed home office, plus wide-plank white oak floors, custom closets and lots of storage.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A primary bedroom suite on the second level comes with a dressing area and a spa-like bath with radiant heated floors. There\u2019s also a second ensuite bedroom\u00a0on this floor, plus a bonus room that could be a flex den or a fourth bedroom.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The top floor boasts a swanky lounge framed by accordion glass doors that open to the landscaped roof terrace, complete with skyline views, an outdoor kitchen \u2014 and built-in lighting, sound and irrigation.<\/p>\n

The building\u2019s developer, Metro Loft\u2019s\u00a0Nathan Berman, once told Gimme\u00a0that its then-most famous residents,\u00a0Timberlake and Biel, scored a $7 million celeb discount\u00a0<\/a>on their purchase of a different penthouse unit at 443 Greenwich because \u201cwe want people like that in the building.\u201d (Timberlake and Biel paid $20.18 million for their unit in 2017.)<\/p>\n

Those discount days are over, said this penthouse\u2019s listing broker Jared Schwadron, of Compass.\u00a0The unit, which comes with $11,362 a month in common charges, was last asking $27.5 million in 2021 and 2022; last year it was also offered as an $80,000-a-month rental. It rented and is now vacant and staged.<\/p>\n

The new $35 million asking price correlates \u201cto the demand for the building,\u201d Schwadron said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe apartment has had limited use since the first closings in 2016. Most of the tenants used it as a pied-\u00e0-terre,\u201d Schwadron said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a generational building. There are people that will never sell and they will give the apartments to their children,\u201d Schwadron added. <\/p>\n
