That\u2019s how she got into trail cameras.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"1\">\u201cI had to make a choice: stay in the house afraid of all the wildlife &#8230; or just go outside and be brave,\u201d Diane, owner of the Facebook page <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100076322959409\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Adventurous Diane<\/a>, told The Dodo. \u201cIt took about 3 years, but I am no longer afraid. I have 16 trail cameras spread over 30 miles and hike the bush alone all the time. It is a true honour and privilege to venture into wilderness that has not been disturbed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/1762445893_408_scale;webp=auto;jpeg_quality=60.jpg\"  alt=\"trail camera footage\" width=\"792\" height=\"594\" style=\"display:block;height:auto;aspect-ratio:792 \/ 594\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100076322959409\" data-vars-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100076322959409\" data-vars-ga-action=\"click\" data-vars- rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Adventurous Diane<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"0\">Diane monitors the footage from her various trail cameras and loves seeing who pops up to say hello. Bears, deer, wolves, raccoons, lynx, otters, geese, squirrels and various birds have all made appearances. One of her cameras is set up near an abandoned pond that was in total disrepair, and recently a beaver showed up and decided to move back in.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"1\">Beavers build dams to protect themselves from predators and do so by chopping down trees with their large front teeth. Chipping away at the bark and eventually getting the trees to fall can take some time, but this beaver was up for the challenge.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/1762445894_377_scale;webp=auto;jpeg_quality=60.jpg\"  alt=\"beaver on camera\" width=\"792\" height=\"594\" style=\"display:block;height:auto;aspect-ratio:792 \/ 594\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100076322959409\" data-vars-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100076322959409\" data-vars-ga-action=\"click\" data-vars- rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Adventurous Diane<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"0\">As the beaver worked hard to do some home improvement work on the disheveled pond, he soon turned his attention to the tree where Diane\u2019s camera happened to be \u2014 and decided it had to go.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"1\">\u201cWhen the beaver starts to cut down the tree, it is bumping my camera, making it go side to side,\u201d Diane said. \u201cThis goes on for two full days, resulting in about 300 pictures of the movement, until finally the tree falls down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/1762445894_840_scale;webp=auto;jpeg_quality=60.jpg\"  alt=\"beaver\" width=\"792\" height=\"594\" style=\"display:block;height:auto;aspect-ratio:792 \/ 594\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100076322959409\" data-vars-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100076322959409\" data-vars-ga-action=\"click\" data-vars- rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Adventurous Diane<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"0\">Diane was watching the footage when, suddenly, the camera fell. When the dust settled, the camera was facing up toward the sky, and Diane couldn\u2019t stop laughing.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"1\">\u201c[I was in] total shock, and then I had to laugh,\u201d Diane said. \u201cI was so grateful my camera was OK.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/1762445895_555_scale;webp=auto;jpeg_quality=60.jpg\"  alt=\"beaver\" width=\"792\" height=\"366\" style=\"display:block;height:auto;aspect-ratio:792 \/ 366\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100076322959409\" data-vars-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100076322959409\" data-vars-ga-action=\"click\" data-vars- rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Adventurous Diane<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"0\">Diane went out to the scene of the crime and found her camera, chopped down but unharmed. Instead of admitting defeat, she kept the camera where it was, this time attaching it to a stick in the ground and tying that to what was left of the tree.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"1\">Diane hasn\u2019t seen her beaver friend in person, but his presence is everywhere.
