Variety noted<\/a> that through Shatara Michelle Ford\u2019s second feature film, Dreams in Nightmares<\/a>, seems to begin a familiar road trip story, it \u201cpunctures those expectations to deliver something grander and more poetic\u201d with characters that explore \u201cwhat it means to be Black and queer in contemporary America.\u201d The film will make its Texas premiere as the opening night selection for the Houston Cinema Arts Festival<\/a> on Thursday, November 6, at 7:30 p.m. at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston<\/a>. The joke centered on Laurel and Hardy accidentally donning each other\u2019s pants and getting caught each time they try to switch. Liberty is one of the silent films you can see on Friday, November 14, at 8 p.m. when ROCO<\/a> returns to River Oaks Theatre<\/a> for From Silence to Sound<\/a>, a program led by guest conductor and composer Andrew Earle Simpson<\/a>, who will lead the ensemble as they perform Simpson\u2019s own original scores for Liberty, Disney\u2019s Silly Symphony, and Charlie Chaplin\u2019s The Immigrant.
