Not bad\u00a0for a global competition!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The ranking from Resonance Consultancy evaluates the top 100 cities\u00a0based on livability, lovability and prosperity; L.A. came in at 13 on all three.\u00a0The list places London, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/newyork\/news\/new-york-just-ranked-as-the-second-best-city-in-the-world-110525\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York<\/a> and Paris in the top three, but Los Angeles\u2019 spot just shy\u00a0of\u00a0the top\u00a010 underscores a familiar truth: ours is a city that\u2019s constantly redefining itself while the world watches.<\/p>\n<p>The United States boasts\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/usa\/news\/these-19-u-s-cities-were-just-crowned-the-best-in-the-world-in-a-new-ranking-110525\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">19 entries on the list<\/a>\u00a0(including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/chicago\/news\/chicago-was-just-voted-one-of-the-best-cities-in-the-world-110525\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chicago<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/miami\/news\/miami-was-just-voted-one-of-the-best-cities-in-the-world-110525\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Miami<\/a>), more than any other country,\u00a0and Los Angeles stands out for its cultural influence, creative economy and enduring power as a place where people come to chase big dreams.<\/p>\n<p>As the report summarizes, &#8220;The planet\u2019s city of stories is telling a few of its own these days, even with the nagging trauma of Mother Nature\u2019s recent wrath.&#8221; And some of those stories live on social media, helping L.A. secure the number three spot\u00a0for\u00a0Instagram posts on the Place Power Rankings.\u00a0(We also came in at number three for universities.)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"491\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The report also highlighted L.A.\u2019s \u201cdecade of sports,\u201d with the 2026 FIFA World Cup, 2027 Super Bowl and 2028 Olympics on the horizon, but emphasized that the story extends beyond stadiums, pointing to the Rams Village at Warner Center\u2014a 52-acre mixed-use campus with offices, apartments, entertainment venues and nine acres of parks breaking ground in 2027\u2014as a sign of confidence in the Valley\u2019s office-to-residential reinvention, reflected in the city\u2019s\u00a0number five ranking in the business ecosystem category.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>The ranking is essentially an attempt to quantify not only how cities function, but how\u00a0the people living in them feel\u2014an interesting analysis at this moment in time for Los Angeles, as the city juggles very real challenges:\u00a0affordability crises, extreme weather, public transit growing pains and the ongoing reshaping of workplace culture.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But the city\u2019s place near the top of a global list\u00a0is a welcome reminder (especially this year) that\u00a0its narrative is not solely defined by struggle, but also by reinvention. The report notes that cities that thrive in the coming decade will be the ones that prove they can offer safety, opportunity and belonging to the people who live there, and then clearly communicate that to the world.
