PHOENIX (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 A man is in custody after a woman was found dead early Friday morning in south-central Phoenix.<\/p>\n

Police were called to the scene around 4 a.m. after it was reported that a man shot and killed a woman inside a home near 21st Avenue and Hadley Street<\/a>, just north of Buckeye Road. <\/p>\n

Officers arrived at the home and placed the man in custody, according to Phoenix Police. The woman was then found dead inside the home.<\/p>\n

The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said, but he has since been released and is being booked into jail. His charges and identity have not yet been provided. <\/p>\n

Police have not specified the relationship between the two people.<\/p>\n

A large law enforcement presence is in the area Friday morning as the investigation gets underway. Drivers should avoid the area.<\/p>\n
