{"id":362629,"date":"2025-11-07T17:18:14","date_gmt":"2025-11-07T17:18:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/362629\/"},"modified":"2025-11-07T17:18:14","modified_gmt":"2025-11-07T17:18:14","slug":"starbucks-forced-to-apologize-over-bearista-brawls-as-fans-stake-out-stores-for-hours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/362629\/","title":{"rendered":"Starbucks forced to apologize over Bearista brawls as fans stake out stores for hours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Starbucks\u2019 new drinkware is <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/11\/05\/lifestyle\/starbucks-fans-go-wild-for-new-bear-shaped-holiday-cup\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">already beary popular<\/a> \u2014 and they\u2019re apologizing for it.<\/p>\n<p>On Nov. 6, the coffee chain released its <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/11\/06\/lifestyle\/tis-the-season-for-starbucks-holiday-menu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2025 holiday menu<\/a> and merchandise, including the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DQqPYWVjH0e\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">already-viral Glass Starbucks Bearista Cold Cup<\/a>, a 20-ounce vessel shaped like a teddy bear wearing a Starbucks green knitted beanie priced at $29.95.<\/p>\n<p>The novelty cup has caused quite the commotion, with many customers unable to get their hands on one and some even starting fights over them, including one brawl that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=zhbNEReQ4Ng\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">made the news in Houston<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0already-viral Glass Starbucks Bearista Cold Cup is a 20-ounce cold cup shaped like a teddy bear wearing a Starbucks green knitted beanie. Joshua Trujillo\/Starbucks<\/p>\n<p>After fans began expressing disappointment over the festive fiasco, Starbucks issued a public apology in a statement to The Post about the supply shortage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe excitement for our merchandise exceeded even our biggest expectations,\u201d a Starbucks spokesperson told us. \u201cDespite shipping more Bearista cups to coffeehouses than almost any other merchandise item this holiday season, the Bearista cup and some other items sold out fast.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They added, \u201cWe understand many customers were excited about the Bearista cup and apologize for the disappointment this may have caused.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Starbucks did not return our request for clarification on how many Bearistas are being supplied to each store and how frequently they\u2019ll be restocked. Still, they did say that customers can expect \u201cmore exciting merchandise coming this holiday season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Before the Seattle-based chain apologized, many fans took to the comment section of their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/starbucks\/reel\/DQsI80ikoXe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nov. 5 promotional video<\/a> of the cup to air their frustration. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI find it quite disappointing that a big company like Starbucks would release a new collection that clearly generates hype and inevitably, frustration,\u201d one wrote. \u201cI\u2019m sorry, but this time the disappointment has real consequences. There are plenty of alternatives out there, and many of us feel let down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think I have a better chance at winning the lottery than I do obtaining this cute bear cup,\u201d another quipped.<\/p>\n<p>Some people reportedly went to great lengths to try to get their hands on one, even staking out their local Starbucks stores for hours \u2014 to no avail.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI went to four stores (first one opened at 4:30), saw the barista put out two cups and then right as the clock struck 4:30 before opening the doors, went and purchased both of them before and acted like they didn\u2019t get any at the store,\u201d a user shared. \u201cThe other three I went to only got 1 in stock and one store didn\u2019t get any. This was all before 5:30 in the morning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI got up at 4 a.m. and drove to a location that specifically said it would have this cup. i was first in line, they didn\u2019t have it. i drove to four more locations, none of them had it and said they never did,\u201d someone wrote. \u201cIf you are going to excite people over this then make sure ALL stores have supply. so many people are disappointed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threads.com\/@restlessamanda\/post\/DQt1Ts5kYYX\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Threads user<\/a> claimed they camped out at their local Starbucks, getting there and setting up a chair to sit in at 1 a.m. to be the first person in line to get a Bearista cup. When they opened the doors at 4:30 a.m., she was told they didn\u2019t get any bear cups.<\/p>\n<p>Many fans claimed that the stores they went to were \u201csold out\u201d of the cups \u2014 and some locations were only stocking one or two Bearista cups per store.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy do we hype these up, then give stores only 1 or 2 to sell? Our store literally received 1 bear cup,\u201d one person commented.<\/p>\n<p>Starbucks issued an apology to fans over the lack of supply for the Bearista cups. Starbucks<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot cool marketing, Starbucks, to only have 1-2 at each store and allow your baristas to buy them before customers. You should have had additional stock for your baristas and at least 10-20 for each store,\u201d someone said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease don\u2019t market something so heavily if people don\u2019t even have the option to actually purchase it, it has the opposite effect of what you are hoping for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSend more than 2 cups to each store; ya\u2019ll are creating unnecessary excitement,\u201d another wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBasically advertising a non-existent product. It\u2019s really unbelievable,\u201d someone snarked.<\/p>\n<p>People pointed out that the drop \u201chas done nothing but fuel resale at absurd prices, feeding a market that shouldn\u2019t even exist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Glass Starbucks Bearista Cold Cup is being sold for $29.95. Starbucks<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease restock the Bear cup.
