There&#8217;s only one \u200bOracle of Omaha.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">Berkshire Hathaway said on Thursday that videos using AI-generated images of \u200cits longtime chief executive are circulating on YouTube, featuring comments he never made.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">The 95-year-old investor, \u200cknown for his market instincts and long-held nickname \u201cthe Oracle of Omaha,\u201d has increasingly become a target for AI impersonators.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">While the visuals often mimic Buffett, Berkshire said the audio typically features flat, generic speech that &#8220;clearly&#8221; is not his voice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">In \u2060a press release titled \u201c\u200cIt\u2019s Not Me,\u201d the company highlighted one video, \u201cWarren Buffett: The #1 Investment Tip For Everyone Over \u200d50 (MUST WATCH),\u201d in which an impersonated voice offers investment advice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">&#8220;Individuals who are less familiar with Mr. Buffett may believe these videos are real and be misled by the \u200bcontents,&#8221; Berkshire said. &#8220;Mr. Buffett is concerned that these \u200ctypes of fraudulent videos are becoming a spreading virus.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">The rise of deepfake technology and AI-driven voice tools has made it easier to produce realistic forgeries of public figures, intensifying concerns over misinformation and reputational damage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">In May, the FBI reported that malicious actors had used AI-generated voice calls and text messages to impersonate senior U.S. \u2060officials in attempts to access government employees\u2019 personal \u200baccounts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">Buffett has previously complained about people pretending to be \u200bhim, including through increasingly convincing AI-based impersonations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">In October 2024, two weeks before the U.S. presidential election, Buffett warned of &#8220;\u200dfraudulent claims&#8221; that \u2060he had endorsed political candidates and investment products.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">He has largely stepped back from political endorsements after supporting former President Barack Obama and Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">Buffett will step \u2060down as Berkshire\u2019s chief executive at the end of the year and will be succeeded by Vice \u200cChairman Greg Abel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">(Reporting by Pritam Biswas in Bengaluru and Jonathan Stempel \u200cin New York; Editing by Tasim Zahid)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"(Reuters) &#8211;Warren Buffett has a message for people who generate or view AI-created impersonations of him.
