The couple <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DQxbOU7kuqn\/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ%3D%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">posted the news on Instagram<\/a> Friday night.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur little angel, we love you forever &amp; you\u2019re with us always,\u201d they wrote in their post. \u201cThere are no words to describe the pain we\u2019re going through but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The pair had been expecting the birth of Sterling, their first child, when Vesia left the team before the start of the World Series due to a \u201cdeeply personal matter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is so much bigger than baseball,\u201d president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said before the series.<\/p>\n<p>Vesia\u2019s status loomed over the series and hung heavy in the Dodgers\u2019 clubhouse. Before Game 3 \u2014 the day after Sterling\u2019s passing \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6758138\/2025\/10\/28\/dodgers-bullpen-alex-vesia-honored\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">all of Vesia\u2019s teammates in the bullpen wrote Vesia\u2019s No. 51 on the side of their caps<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVes is such a big part of our squad and everything that we do, everything we\u2019ve done,\u201d reliever Justin Wrobleski said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Vesia situation is playing on our hearts recently,\u201d said Evan Phillips. \u201cWe certainly miss him on the field, but we know that we have his back and the support\u2019s there for them while they\u2019re going through this hard time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Toronto Blue Jays\u2019 relievers did their part to acknowledge the Vesia family\u2019s ongoing situation, writing No. 51 on the sides of their caps for the final two games of the World Series.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor those guys to do that, it\u2019s incredible,\u201d Kik\u00e9 Hern\u00e1ndez said before the Dodgers\u2019 Game 7 win. \u201cThey\u2019re trying to win a World Series, but they understand that this is \u2014 life is bigger than baseball, and baseball\u2019s just a game. For them to do that with the stakes where we\u2019re at, hats off to them, and I want them to know that we appreciate \u2019em.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Blue Jays fans have also contributed to the effort, donating thousands to the <a href=\"https:\/\/donate.sickkidsfoundation.com\/NDF?campaign=rralwayson&amp;appeal=26GEA-DIGT-BRD\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">SickKids foundation<\/a> in the Vesias\u2019 honor. Several Dodgers fans\u2019 signs at the team\u2019s World Series parade acknowledged the situation and offered their best to the Vesia family amid the celebration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur baseball family showed up for us, and we wouldn\u2019t be able to do this without them,\u201d the Vesias wrote. \u201cWe have seen ALL your messages, comments and posts.
