Dallas police<\/a> detectives on the North Texas Internet Crimes Against Children task force made two arrests<\/a> based on a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, according to a police news release.<\/p>\n

Detectives identified the suspects as 34-year-old Skylar Laza, a Houston County sheriff\u2019s office deputy, and 29-year-old Kenan Laza, a Gladewater police officer.<\/p>\n

The preliminary investigation determined that both suspects had sexually assaulted a child multiple times, the release said.<\/p>\n

Skylar Laza was arrested in Palestine on Wednesday and faces a first-degree felony charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, he was federally indicted for the production of child pornography, the release said.<\/p>\n

Skylar Laza was also released from Henderson County jail Thursday, according to court records. <\/p>\n

He previously had a bond amount set at $1 million.<\/p>\n

Kenan Laza was arrested in Longview and faces a third-degree felony charge of indecency with a child exposure.<\/p>\n

As of Friday, he remained in Gregg County jail with no bond set, according to court records.<\/p>\n

The suspects and victim know each other, the release said.<\/p>\n

No other information about the incident was immediately available. <\/p>\n
