Here&#8217;s what investors need to know today.\n<\/p>\n<p>  1. US Stock Futures Little Changed Ahead of Shortened Session  <\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_4-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block finance-sc-block-html mntl-sc-block-html\"> U.S. stock futures are little changed ahead of today&#8217;s release of the June employment report. Stock markets will close at 1 p.m. ET and bond markets will end at 2 p.m. ET before tomorrow&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/is-the-stock-market-open-on-july-4th-here-s-the-summer-trading-schedule-11762419\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">closures for the Independence Day holiday<\/a>.\u00a0S&amp;P 500 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/terms\/n\/nasdaq.asp\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nasdaq<\/a>\u00a0futures are essentially flat after both indexes closed at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/dow-jones-today-07022025-11765134\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"3\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">new record highs<\/a> yesterday. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/terms\/d\/djia.asp\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"4\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dow Jones Industrial Average<\/a>\u00a0futures also are little changed.\u00a0Bitcoin\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/markets\/quote?tvwidgetsymbol=btcusd\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"5\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">(BTCUSD<\/a>) is little changed at just below $110,000. The 10-year Treasury yield and oil futures are lower. Gold futures are near flat.\n<\/p>\n<p>  2. US Jobs Report Expected to Show Hiring Slowed in June  <\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_7-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block finance-sc-block-html mntl-sc-block-html\"> U.S. employers are expected to have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/what-to-expect-from-thursday-s-jobs-report-11762657\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">added 110,000 jobs in June<\/a>, a slowdown in job creation from 139,000 in May, when that data is released at 8:30 a.m. ET today. Economists surveyed by The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires also forecast the unemployment rate will have ticked higher to 4.3%. The data follows Wednesday&#8217;s release of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/private-sector-employment-falls-june-11765180\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">private-sector payroll report<\/a> that showed employers cut 33,000 jobs in June while economists expected payrolls to increase by 100,000 jobs.\n<\/p>\n<p>  3. House Set for Final Vote on &#8216;One Big Beautiful Bill&#8217;  <\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_10-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block finance-sc-block-html mntl-sc-block-html\"> The U.S. House of Representatives <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/trump-s-one-big-beautiful-bill-heads-for-final-house-vote-11765969\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">narrowly advanced<\/a> President Donald Trump&#8217;s tax-and-spending bill early Thursday, clearing a key hurdle that allows the chamber to start a final vote on his signature legislation before his self-imposed July 4 deadline. Several Republican holdouts finally relented and advanced Trump&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/what-exactly-is-the-one-big-beautiful-bill-republican-gop-budget-update-11739348\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;One Big Beautiful Bill&#8221;<\/a>\u2014which includes an extension of his 2017 tax cuts and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/why-the-one-big-beautiful-bill-is-trump-s-best-chance-to-influence-fiscal-policy-this-year-11761732\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"3\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reduces funding for Medicaid<\/a>\u2014in a 219-213 vote. On Tuesday, the Senate voted 50-50 on the bill, with Vice President JD Vance casting\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/senate-passes-big-beautiful-bill-sends-it-back-to-the-house-vance-vote-11764510\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"4\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the tiebreaking vote<\/a>\u00a0in favor to send it to the House.\n<\/p>\n<p>  4. US Lifts Restrictions on Chip-Design Software to China  <\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_13-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block finance-sc-block-html mntl-sc-block-html\"> The U.S. has removed some export restrictions on chip-design software to China, according to chip-design software maker Synopsys (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/markets\/quote?tvwidgetsymbol=SNPS\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">SNPS<\/a>). The company said that it received government notice on Wednesday that the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/chip-software-stocks-tumble-trump-china-cadence-synopsys-nvidia-earnings-11743742\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">restrictions set in late May<\/a>\u00a0have now been rescinded. &#8220;Synopsys is working to restore access to the recently restricted products in China,&#8221; it said. Shares of Synopsys are rising 5% in premarket trading, while those of Cadence Software (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/markets\/quote?tvwidgetsymbol=CDNS\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"3\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CDNS<\/a>), which reportedly also is working to restore access to affected customers, are up about 6%.\n<\/p>\n<p>  5. Datadog Stock Surges on News of S&amp;P 500 Inclusion  <\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_16-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block finance-sc-block-html mntl-sc-block-html\"> Shares of Datadog (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/markets\/quote?tvwidgetsymbol=DDOG\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">DDOG<\/a>) are surging 9% in premarket trading after S&amp;P Global announced that the software firm would join the S&amp;P 500 on July 9. A spot in the index opened following Hewlett Packard Enterprise&#8217;s (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/markets\/quote?tvwidgetsymbol=HPE\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">HPE<\/a>) completed acquisition of fellow index component Juniper Networks (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/markets\/quote?tvwidgetsymbol=JNPR\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"3\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">JNPR<\/a>).
