{"id":366263,"date":"2025-11-09T06:28:14","date_gmt":"2025-11-09T06:28:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/366263\/"},"modified":"2025-11-09T06:28:14","modified_gmt":"2025-11-09T06:28:14","slug":"9-injured-in-washington-heights-apartment-building-fire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/366263\/","title":{"rendered":"9 injured in Washington Heights apartment building fire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nine people were injured in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/newyork\/video\/crews-battle-5-alarm-fire-at-washington-heights-apartment-building\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">an apartment building fire in Washington Heights<\/a> on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Reports of a fire at the six-story building on Fort Washington Avenue between West 163rd and 164th streets came in just after 8:45 p.m., and crews were on the scene within four minutes, fire officials said.<\/p>\n<p>When they arrived, firefighters found heavy fire on the fourth floor of the building, with flames extending to the fifth and sixth floors, plus the cockloft above.<\/p>\n<p>The fire grew to five alarms with 220 firefighters and EMS personnel on scene, fire officials said. It took several hours for the fire to be brought under control.<\/p>\n<p>According to fire officials, three firefighters suffered minor injuries.
