Already 140 of the offered units are being occupied on the 4.2-acre property located at 316 W. Broadway Road<\/a>, which features a splash pad, centrally-located laundry room, picnic areas and outdoor fitness equipment.<\/p>\n District 5 Supervisor Steve Gallardo said in the release that the need for affordable housing \u201chas never been more urgent.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis new community shows how partners are working together to take meaningful action,\u201d Gallardo said. \u201cAscent on Broadway<\/a> gives Phoenix residents more options for stable, safe and affordable housing, which is a key step in addressing the challenges facing our families.\u201d<\/p>\n The units come in the following sizes:<\/p>\n Land acquisition for the latest affordable housing project in the county was funded by $1.6 million obtained through the American Rescue Plan Act and the total cost came in at $34.3 million.<\/p>\n At the beginning of this year, central Phoenix received its own affordable rental community, Acacia Heights II<\/a>, which is a 66-unit complex located near Seventh Avenue and Camelback Road.<\/p>\n Follow @pwmoses11<\/a><\/p>\n We want to hear from you.<\/p>\n Have a story idea or tip?
