A heartbroken family is seeking justice after their loved one was struck and killed in a South Los Angeles hit-and-run last month, a crash authorities confirmed Sunday.<\/p>\n

The collision happened around 3 a.m. on Oct. 12 near 92nd Street and South Broadway, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Officers responded to reports of a motorcycle down and found the rider dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

LAPD confirmed that a call for a hit-and-run at that location and date was logged in its system. No information about the suspect vehicle has been released, but the department said additional details will be provided at a later time.<\/p>\n

Footage obtained by KTLA shows the aftermath of the crash, with police tape blocking the intersection and a heavily damaged motorcycle lying in the roadway.<\/p>\n

    Family members can be seen crying and embracing each other on the sidewalk as they realize their loved one was the victim. Others stand nearby, visibly shaken, as police officers and bystanders keep a respectful distance behind the caution tape. The emotional scene unfolded just steps away from a nearby car club event that was taking place when the crash occurred.<\/p>\n

    KTLA is scheduled to speak with the family Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

    Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is urged to contact LAPD\u2019s Southeast Division.<\/p>\n
