This guide will be updated weekly when each episode airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m., leading up to the finale. And we’re saying it now: there will be spoilers ahead.

Episode 6, “Under the Table”

Carrie definitely has a neighbor crush — she’s spending a lot of time with Mr. British Biographer, even having a supper of mutton stew and malbec in his basement apartment on a rainy evening. “Never had mutton before,” she muses. “Tastes exactly like I imagine it would; it’s very muttony.” Well put, Carrie. He says he wants to take her out for a “proper meal,” but before that, they do the vulnerable writer thing and ask each other to read their works-in-progress. She later tells Aidan it was the “worst meal of my entire life,” while he just makes bad Dunkin’ puns (since the neighbor’s name is Duncan, get it?) and later breaks the irreplaceable window of her home. Come. On.

It’s another heavy episode too: Lisa’s father has a stroke and dies (but also, wasn’t he already dead before?); Harry opts to undergo surgery to treat his prostate cancer.

368 West 23rd Street, at Ninth Avenue, Chelsea

Lisa treks out to this diner “all the way across the bridge” to meet up with the general manager of her father’s theater, Lucille Highwater (played by Jenifer Lewis), and plan for his funeral in New Jersey. And actually, this diner is written to act as the Pink Tea Cup, a since-shuttered NYC soul food staple.

The staff knows them well, calling her Miss Lisa and asking if she wants “the usual,” which turns out to be chicken and waffles. Over their big plates, Lisa asks for hot sauce from a server, but Lucille channels Beyoncé by whipping out a bottle of what looks like Crystal hot sauce, gifted by her father. They also get slices of Key lime pie, which Lucille describes as having “seen better days.”

129 East 18th Street at Irving Place, Gramercy Park

The historic New York City bar makes its second appearance this season (see: episode five, where Carrie and Duncan go out for a meal).
